Tyre Kicking (Again!)
First topic message reminder :
Found this ZX-12 at the following QLD dealer:
Top Gun Yamaha
Location
Bundamba, QLD
http://www.bikepoint.com.au/all-bikes/dealer/details.aspx?R=12039026&ref=Item&Nne=&N=&Ns=
Of course it looks ok in the photo - but the cheap price has me wondering. If it was ok, my daughter might be interested.
Anyone had anything to do with this dealership?
Late edit, thanks to 2WA:
I don't think this has been posted before but for those amongst us who are thinking (dreaming) about adding to the fleet this website might help you decide if the bike is rideable all day or just a lap to the café. Click >>> Cycle Ergo

It appears to be quite a bargain (the half a pic of the windscreen price sticker suggests it is between $3500 and $3599, which is cheap, especially from a dealer. BUT, the car history report will not recognise the rego number - I have no idea if that means there is a problem or whether there are legitimate reasons for it. Or isn't that on-line checking thing reliable? Any ideas?

Just sent you a MMS screen shot of reg details.
Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
I rang the dealer - the VIN number in the ad is incorrect (the "VX" should be "BX"). Also, I magnified the pic of the front screen. I now think it reads:
SV1000S
$35 per week
$500 deposit
5,990
I have put in a bid but I wouldn't pay $5990 - there are others on Bikepoint that compare favourably, although the eBay one does have low kays and excellent condition. They do arrange transport too if required (not mentioned in the ad). Could still be a good buy depending what reserve they have on it.

Good luck Dave. It's the bike I want next but probably cant get but I'm happy to help a mate liberate it from an unused life

The more the merrier James - when I wake up and ask "What day is it?" I want Bev to be able to say "It's Bandit day" or "It's TRX day", or "It's SV day", etc. If I get 365 of them, I'll only have to worry about leap years!
PS: Bought another lotto ticket in the Sat Night superdraw so if any great success I might even buy a few at a time (and a garage!).

Mate - I'm happy for you to extract one and ride it up here. We'll work out how to get you home after that over a few beers and salad!

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Also came across this old CB350F - it caught my attention as I used to own one, back in '77-'78. By the look of the price on this one, it seems I should have kept it! Although this one has next to no k's on it and the low production run (unlike the CB750 it wasn't that popular and the 400four was released which was a much better bike) has meant they are sought after as collector's items (or so I read). But how much is too much? $8,950 is stretching the friendship.

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Hope not - I just found an oldie I've been looking for. Just enough space in the shed to fit it in too I reckon (if I move some of the missus' junk, er stuff, out of the way).

Here's what appears to be a very good buy as either a daily runner or a track bike. You'd be sure to get it at under $4k.

Color blind perhaps? Or just skipped the green bit because it's a ninja and of course they're green!

Mate, you're going have to do some k's in the next week, ie about 80,000! Else you don't get it.

It's like chroma key, on the green screen part you can have any colour/ image you like.SuzySuzuki wrote:Ewok1958 wrote:Here's what appears to be a very good buy as either a daily runner or a track bike. You'd be sure to get it at under $4k.

You could do worse than buying one of these

Another one of those ZX-12 powerhouse bikes which had me start this thread - in a local shop too. A keen negotiator would get it at $6k... Bloody useless lotto numbers! Would eat a blackbird for brekky eh Hammy.

There's an original blue sample at Sale Honda on consignment. Been there well over 6 months. I reckon 5k would buy it.

Very bold statement there ewok, yes it would blast past the black turd only to blow up a km down the road, yes hammy i am sticking up for ya turd cause that's what mates do plus then you go around to your other mates place and give him a upper cut for thinking about buying a Kawasaki in the first placeEwok1958 wrote:Another one of those ZX-12 powerhouse bikes which had me start this thread - in a local shop too.
