Tyre Nails
Sigh.....
Any thoughts from anyone if this is pluggable?
Looking at getting a mushroom plug, or taking recommendations

Re: Tyre Nails
Looks like a substantial hole. I plugged a large hole with three inserts on my LTF-250 four-wheeler but then, it doesn't usually get over 20kmph. I'm not sure I'd trust a Bandit tyre with a large hole plugged given the speed they are capable of. Shame, looks like plenty of tread left.

Re: Tyre Nails
Yep
Lots of tread left
Guess I should just ante up and get a new one. (Considering I do the F3 daily on it)
Might plug it with a home job, and do a few burnouts

Re: Tyre Nails
Get the dealer to put a mushroom plug in. Honestly they last for 10k kms - the worst you will get is maybe a slow leak after a long while. The shop will know if it is safe to plug or not.
I used to get punctures every couple of months on my GS500 from going in the breakdown land. One tyre ended up with three plugs haha.

Mate I have done more k's than I care to think about on tyres that have been mushroom plugged and never had an issue.Tsim wrote:Yep

At worst you'll lose a lb or 2 a week. The shop wont plug it if it's not safe to do so.
Re: Tyre Nails
Mate I pulled a roofing screw out of my nearly new Pr3 rear tyre a few months ago. Plugged it with licorice stick style plug. First one leaked so put a thicker one in.
Intention is to get a mushroom plug one day, but it not losing air and not effecting the tyre. I've ridden on it heaps since with no problems

Re: Tyre Nails
My first Pr2 on the rear copped a hole the same as that at 2000 ks. I took it to Beaurepaires here in Wang and the guy said not a problem. He plugged it from the inside with what looked like a huge rubber thumb tack. I got around 24,000 ks out of that tyre and I didn't slow down.

Re: Tyre Nails
yeah mate, I`m the same as Kaupy,
had a new tyre with 500 on it, I took the bare tyre down to Bob Jane, and they fixed it properly,
got full life out of the tyre, and I didn`t hesitate on speed either!
