I don't think this has been posted before but for those amongst us who are thinking (dreaming) about adding to the fleet this website might help you decide if the bike is rideable all day or just a lap to the café. Click >>> Cycle Ergo

On the money Reddog - the Bandit is alive and well.  If this doesn't work out, I'm buying a Merc SLK (not kidding, there is a low kms one in outer MLB for under $25k). Lucky there are no open beaches here or Bev would have already thought of the beach buggy. Good luck.

Well, I've ordered the passenger floorboards, and an after-market rear shock (custom built for our weight Wilbers, $685) as the forum reports reckon the standard spring is way too soft (and after one ride with Bev on the back, I agree).  Bev's happy. I'm happy (she paid for most of it!!). Riding a cruiser is different, but I don't get the feeling it will kill us.

But to get started, I made a bracket for what once was a Hog Wild belt buckle and installed it next to the number plate.  Wild Hogs baby!



Also took the Bandit for a spin today - what a great bike!

Good job Bev didn't see this. 1986 Kawasaki Voyager - like the Enterprise, only larger! And of course you need double-decker top boxes.

Just looking at the specs; 1200cc, 97hp, 5 speed. Was that considered a big motor back in '86 ?

Even the Honda Goldwing was a 1200 with 94 hp back then ..................I can remember when a 650 was considered a big bike

Just up the road in the seat of power, the Yammy dealer has this 1992 VFR750, obviously as traded and a bit rough ($1999, 54,000 kms).  But it might be had for $1,000 for a bit of silver-tonguing ( ).



At that price, it might make a good 'project bike', and eligible for club reg in 2022 (not too far away?)

With a bit of paint and decal work, it could look like this:



Might have to check out if it actually runs properly.

It should have gear driven cams which sound fantastic (if you like a mechanical symphony)
These are still rockets by today's standards. Fairly sporty in the ergo' but it works.

Well, that VFR didn't last long - someone obviously saw the potential as a project bike.  But I came across this strange beast this morning on BikeSales.



1986 Yamaha FZX750, 22,000kms, $3000.

I've never seen one, or even heard of them - seems they might have only been sold in the USA.  The price is pretty reasonable if you want something rare. I don't!

A guy on Aussie street bikes has one of these and upgraded it with xjr1300 parts. They are definitely an import

They mentioned the Yanks only imported the 700, so your find is probably a direct Japanese import.

If you squint and hold your tongue right , it almost looks a bit vmaxish................wonder what parts are like to get for it .

There are two on ebay atm.

On BikeSales, 2003 SV1000S, 18,000kms, $4,500 asking price. Being sold by an old guy. Absolute bargain given the condition and low kms. I'd be in if the shed wasn't full!

If I remember rightly during my days on the SV downunder forum, we used to call that colour the rusty coloured SV
