Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Found this ZX-12 at the following QLD dealer:
Top Gun Yamaha
Location
Bundamba, QLD
http://www.bikepoint.com.au/all-bikes/dealer/details.aspx?R=12039026&ref=Item&Nne=&N=&Ns=
Of course it looks ok in the photo - but the cheap price has me wondering. If it was ok, my daughter might be interested.
Anyone had anything to do with this dealership?
Late edit, thanks to 2WA:
I don't think this has been posted before but for those amongst us who are thinking (dreaming) about adding to the fleet this website might help you decide if the bike is rideable all day or just a lap to the café. Click >>> Cycle Ergo

I would'nt think thats all that cheap for a TEN year old bike. But if it looks like the Ks are genuine and there is some service reciepts, then, it might be worth it.

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
$7K would be close to top dollar for them (older Busa's are under 10K)
Isn't that the same bike oldanaked was wankng over?
Would be a good buy if its legit.

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Its a different bike (same model though) and a different dealer. I was hoping a few of the QLD'er forum members might have some familiarity/opinion on this Ipswich based dealer.

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
That looks in good nick, looks pretty stock too. I'd take it for a ride and see if it suits. I know of a lady that went from a Ninja 250 to a ZX12 and she crashed it a couple of times. They are a heavy bike and not really suited for tight twisty stuff

Been e-tyre kicking again! There is a nice looking ZR1000 on Bikepoint down in Point Cook for $6,200. I like the fact that it is unmodified. I like this model because of the quirky exhaust configuration (not everyone's cup of tea I appreciate) and the multi-colored paintwork, and it's a bit different to a Bandit. Now I just need to find some spare cash (which doesn't exist!).

And here is another example of how much top class bike can be bought for 6k. These and FZ1's make the asking price for used Bandits a joke.
Go have a look Sat arvo Dave. In fact why don't we all rock up and see how the price drops
Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Mate, if I go and spend $6k of her redundancy payout whilst she's in Fiji I'll have the physical characteristcis to match my surname (Steer) not long after she returns!

You could always "steer" clear of her

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
i like the look of the SV,but personally for me,i`ll never own another "twin". Owned and ridden them, and they feel like your pushing a lawn mower, and I don`t like the engine braking they have, but they do look good

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
IMHO, this would be worth a look if you didn't have a bike and were just getting off your LAMS bike. A 1999 model but with only 4600kms on it (still on original tyres).

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Original tyres! Probably still has original fluids too.
About 375km a year doesn't make a good buy even at $5000.
Too many questions for me.

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Yep.. those VTR's drink juice. I remember on a ride down here I passed a couple of VTR's on the Bandit, they seemd to have pretty reasonable handling but not a lot of top end. They were only getting 150kms to a 19L tank. I was topping up every 2nd fuel station

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
mate at work has one,and we`ve been on a few rides, and swap.
I like the sitting on them, alot more comfortable than I thought it was going to be,and in standard form, handle alot better than the bandit, went well too,
just vibrated like a twin though
