Tyre Kicking (Again!)
First topic message reminder :
Found this ZX-12 at the following QLD dealer:
Top Gun Yamaha
Location
Bundamba, QLD
http://www.bikepoint.com.au/all-bikes/dealer/details.aspx?R=12039026&ref=Item&Nne=&N=&Ns=
Of course it looks ok in the photo - but the cheap price has me wondering. If it was ok, my daughter might be interested.
Anyone had anything to do with this dealership?
Late edit, thanks to 2WA:
I don't think this has been posted before but for those amongst us who are thinking (dreaming) about adding to the fleet this website might help you decide if the bike is rideable all day or just a lap to the café. Click >>> Cycle Ergo

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
This ZX12 doesn't look too bad a buy at under $5k. Interesting history.

The link doesn't work but I'll tell you now you won't ride the Bandit again if you buy this

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
This doesn't seem a bad buy at $4,750 if you're in the market for a 1981 classic.

Mate, that's a question you never want to ask if you're looking at classics! The only question is "will it be worth more when I want to sell it?"

I remember coppers riding them.
Just on $3K on road in 1980; I got close to buying one but went with the GSX1100ET instead.

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Yes I was thinking somewhere under $4k
There is nostalga value but I'm not sure they were a ground breaking bike like the 750/4 was.
Whats the attraction of the "Dor" Dave?

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Only that it was one of the bikes in a great line up of 2 wheeled machines that kept on coming in the late 70s and early 80s - all at a time when I was just starting to be employed and didn't have the money to buy any of them!!

Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
That's a good enough reason then. I was thinking you were interested from some sort of mechanical angle.Ewok1958 wrote:Only that it was one of the bikes in a great line up of 2 wheeled machines that kept on coming in the late 70s and early 80s - all at a time when I was just starting to be employed and didn't have the money to buy any of them!!
Re: Tyre Kicking (Again!)
Lusting only mate. But not many of those CB900s about (although the one for sale is an import and not in original nick). The 1100 was the pin-up choice.
