Northern NSW Ride

OK. Sorry about getting all excited and rushing in about a stage 2 event.  But I would like to try and organise a long weekend ride sometime in the new year while the weather gods are  still kind to us. My pick would be Drake as a 1-2 overnight base camp. Obviously if some of you guys/gals were coming up from a fare way down , then you will organise rest stops along the way.  There are so many fantastic ride roads all around that area that I'm sure that it would be a great location. John and I did Cowra to Drake comfortably in one day, and he was aboard his Triumph Tractor. I'm not suggesting that that is what everyone should do. Only pointing out that it is pretty easy.  I truly hope that we can get something going and look forward to any ones interest.

I'm absolutely interested, however , considering how harsh you all were about my inability to attend the last ride, I'm sure you will schedule it on my wife's birthday or some other significant day that I can't get a leave-pass on!

Cheers ReCycled.  The ball is starting to roll.  We can decide on a mutual date that is ok with everyone. Am sure that you will be able to meet up with one or more down your way to make the trip more interesting. As soon as we get 3-4 starters we will decide on the date. How many Ks are you away from Drake ?

I'm up for this but definitely need to do Oxley on the way up there, or on the way down. Any dates suits me but would like to miss the monsoonal rains that generally happens up near the border there.

Pre-Xmas is out as I've used up all the available dates! 17Feb is out as I'm doing a V8 raceday at Wakefield Park. 24Feb is also out as I have to go to Wollongong. But early or mid Feb is good for me or any of March and April.

That's my new satellite internet connection.  Good job it was fitted free under the NBN plan as we're in a fringe area (as you can tell by the quality of the upload).  So don't expect me to comment on any post that contains video as the link is too slow to load video.  What I really need is proper NBN (ie not one that consists of two empty soup cans connected by a piece of string).

Maybe a carrier pigeon would be better

I'm not coming from furthest away but I'm going to nominate FEB 22.

22nd Feb would unfortunately be no good for me as I couldn't get back in time to make the Wollongong appt on the 24th.

at least we know Feb 22 is out.

how does MAR 01 fare?

Oh bugger, I've done it now, the weather is sure to turn to shit that weekend now 

March 21 - 23 is out due to the Brissy Moto Expo @ the RNA Show grounds ! So early march is good for us nth of the boarder !!!

Now I'm seriously considering it. Need to check the holiday book at work first. I'll let you know
