Rider Awareness Ride - Northern Tasmania 2014
We had the Rider Awareness Ride today, just a short stint from the Caltex Roadhouse in Perth through the centre of Launceston to a large open carpark area at Archers Manor just north of town. Weather was a little overcast, but it cleared up as the morning wore on, ended up being relatively warm by our standards (high teen's).
Lots of different bikes, a few HD's, but they didn't really dominate the ride numbers. 3 or 4 Spyders, same number of sidecars, and the rest a good mixture of other breads and sizes. Only saw one other Bandit, a nice black 07 1250S which he had for sale at $6,500 (don't think there was any takers today).
Left Perth about 11am, through town about half an hour later and at the Manor by 12ish. Police had all the traffic lights held for us and with the 80kph limit due to the P's & L's it was a pretty tame run with no stupid behaviour.
Saw a couple of interesting bikes, no XS850's sorry Dave.

Yep, a couple of hundred showed up.
Was talking to a 79 year old rider of one of the Spyders, saying how he has just added a kit to stand the front shocks up more and a stiffer sway bar so he can take corners faster

Great day out there for sure mate. No XS850s - mine might the best in Australia! If there is a lack of opposition.
