I hate it when people asked what I will be doing in 5 Years time, I don'thave 20/20 vision.
Sorry - Had to get that in before the end of the year or it would not have had the same meaning.

What`s going on with the scum bag medical companies, that use to offer the cancer fitting drug,
"Iclusig", which use to cost a patient, $65 000 a year for treatment, now to offer it for...
$3.50 a prescription???

They still make the same profit , the Govt picks up the tab / the sad part is how long some of the drugs take to be approvedmtbeerwah wrote:honestly, the poor past people, that have mortgaged their houses in hope, and some probably have lost their homes,

Re: The Rant Thread
Well there will be no Christmas cheer for us this year! Just found out that the powers that be, at work want to run the line through Christmas All very good for them, they will be home enjoying their Christmas with their families while we work from 7am to 7pm.
Hasn't happened in at least 10 years
You might think its because orders are up and things are going great. Wrong! Its mainly because poorly maintained equipment doesn't run well, therefore we've had quite a few major breakdowns over the past few months putting us behind in orders.
If one of those pricks in the office send out a Merry Christmas email to us I will print it out and shove it up their arse!

That's such a bummer, Brian.
Short notice, too. People have usually made Silly Season plans by now.
It seems employers, more and more, think that they can say "jump" & everyone will stick a broom up their ar$e.

Re: The Rant Thread
What's it like having Christmas off? I've worked most Christmas's and or New year over the last 25 or so.
Re: The Rant Thread
Just saw this pocket sized battery pack on TV, it's one of those units that charges anything as well as having jumper leads to start the car/bike. Their price seemed ridiculously low, trial price off $19.99 plus $19,99 delivery. Put in a phone call and they would ring back. So in the meantime I did some checking, the unit didn't get too bad a rating, although at 200cca it was a bit on the low side, the US price was 5x $19.99 plus delivery, so this break-into-the-Aussie-market price still seemed pretty good, other units I've looked at were $150 to $250, so as a backup to keep in the bike $40 seemed pretty good..
They called me back about 30 minutes later, had to listen to the script of the TV ad again, got to the pricing, yep $19.99 for the 1 MONTH TRIAL and then if you're happy its yours for just 2 other payments of $125 each, so all up that was $289.98. Conversation ended pretty soon after that - but I must say the sales rep was pretty good about it and didn't try any hard sell.
I wish there was some advertising law that states they must disclose the full price.
BTW here is a charger I saw when looking up the specs on the one above, this looks like it is 300cca, $64 plus $12 shipping: cheaper alternative . I haven't looked into this one too deeply, so do your homework before spending your dosh.

Re: The Rant Thread
So heres a little rant.
Its not about Bandits or even bikes but I'm on night shift for the Great Alpine Road fires Victoria is dealing with and a little pissed off.
We're working about 15hr nights including 1hr travel (charter Coach) to and from our accommodation.
We're due to finish Friday morning (1 Jan) at about 08:30 and the powers that be have chucked this at us today.
The above total. 10hrs - Still with me?
Now the kicker is most of my crew including me flew out of Traralgon and most live there or close by (I'm plus 45mins but getting collected)
So for most of us we could be finished work and home in our own beds 2hrs later.
Instead we have to cool our heels and piss around for a day to get home and try to sleep that night.
It doesn't make sense to me.

- We will knock off and go back to our accommodation (Deakin Uni Geelong) - 1hr
- Sleep/rest as per normal (8hr break)
- Catch coach back 1hr to Colac Airfield (a joke calling it an airport)

Sounds like that plan was thought up by some pencil head locked up in his inner city Melbourne office

Sounds just like the clockwork military precision that the Navy was renowned for, when I was in.
I bet that the logistics manager for your crew is ex military.
You all deserve better, having given your time and effort to help so many.

Maybe their thinking is to ensure you get plenty of rest before the trip home. Duty of care and all that shit. (read protecting their own arses)

Re: The Rant Thread
A rider was killed last night on the Mt Darragh Rd - reported as a collision with a Hilux. We ride that road regularly and it has many blind corners. I don't know the details of the accident but I do know there are far too many drivers cutting right-hand corners these days. Anyone cutting a right-hander on the Darragh Rd presents a huge risk to vehicles going in the opposite direction. I think I'll take a video camera over there in coming weeks and set it up on a corner and see how many cars (and bikes) are crossing the white line. Then sho it to the police and talk to the local Bega News.
Fed up with avoiding cagers on that road and many others.

Re: The Rant Thread
Why do 90% of drivers, feel they need to turn in the opposite direction first, before turning a corner. You know the ones, that wanker in front of you, who may or may not use an indicator, to turn, say right, but does that little swing left first, and when your about to go around them, they want to drive into the side of you, cause its so hard to stir that big car they`re driving.
Do they think it has the geometry driving a truck, and need the extra swing to get around a corner??????????
Remove them from the road please!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is he still with Red Bull? He must have run over a black cat on a Friday 13, broke multiple mirrors, walked under a thousand ladders, didn't throw salt over his shoulder.
I'd be getting a new mechanical team, too many things going wrong for him to be random.
Rant over until his next failing.. . . and there will be another failing.
