Anything pissed you off today? Something you need to say?
You now have a place to have a little rant.

Well now that you mention it. Yes.
I had cause to take the car to work today and for once I'm glad I did.
Some clown pulled a uturn from the kerb right in front of me. I can confirm Falcon ABS saved a tbone but it left me wondering where I would have landed if on the bike?
I was only 1km from work too.
Re: The Rant Thread

Yeah Im pissed. I have been trying to sell the Eaglescreen that i bought for the honda cb400, on ebay, four times ive relisted it, four times up to two people have watched it until the auction ends, AND STILL DIDNT SELL IT. Same goes for the two cameras, holden commodore dash mat and a friggin year 12 maths book.
oh another rant, the friggin neighbours' dog needs a kick in the ass. So do their feral grandchildren. And if i find their stupid wheelie bins on MY nature strip,im gonna go kick them over onto the road at 1am....
This and a few other stressful moments, have prevented me from riding since Mildura on Friday.....

It pisses me off that the news programs seem to think that EVERYONE cares who the new Bishop of Rome is going to be. And it's not like I can change station, it's on every fucking news program. grrr.

It pisses me off that it is goin' to cost $8000 to have my cateracs done here in Australia. But if I lived in Ethiopia the Fred Hollows outfit would do it for twenty bucks. WTF !

Take some boot polish and some old clothes and go there for a holiday. Then pose as a local.

A Pentax K100D complete with lenses, filters, bag for $350, and a Pentax MZ60 35mm, three lenses, bag, lens hoods for $200. Im guessing people just dont research how much the digital pentax body costs to buy, brand new (surprisingly you can still get them in US at $600), so they dont realise what a bargain all my shit is.2wheelsagain wrote:

I don't know what it is or why Pentax are not as popular as the other big 2. I remember I had a Pentax ME super 35mm film a long time ago. Was a great camera in its day.

Talking bout things not tied on, I live in the rural area (Darwin) and I was riding in to work the other day and noticed something different ahead. Some people out here have a habit of hooking their wheelie bins handles to their tow balls to tow down their longish driveways to put bin out on the road. This particular lady had forgotten to unhitch hers and was driving at 100km/h with her wheelie bin having a little hissy fit on the tow bar. I was trying to work out at what point the thing would a) unhitch and become very exciting or b) the little plastic wheels and axle carrier would melt and cause things to become equally as exciting. I held my breath, wrapped on the power and pulled up alongside her, still doing 100km/h trying to get her to pull over. She wound her window up and looks the other way. Great . I got in front of her pointing for her to pull over as other cars started flashing her from a safe distance behind. She pulled over looking VERY annoyed. Did it piss me off? No not really, but gee she was pissed off. I guess it's the old thing, the best defence for stupidity is to attack. In hindsight, it was probably a dumb thing for me to do, but I figured I had more escape space at the time than any car and no one was doing anything....and it did get the hazard off the road leading up to peak hour. Should work out how fast those little wheels would have been going.

You dont own a Go-Pro? That would have been so funny to see, yet dangerous for you on the bike at the same time. Im trying to wrap my head around the fact Darwin has peak hour...

Re: The Rant Thread
I dunno how the wheels/axle didn't melt. Maybe the council will need to fit stickers "Not for Road Use" - that should be an excuse to increase the annual rates to pay for the stickers.

- yeah we do. Lasts about 15mins morning and 15 mins in the arvo. And Darwinites actually COMPLAIN about it!
Having a heap of road trains mixing it with the traffic with the Inpex LNG project currently in construction doesn't help - but by southern standards, yes our roads are empty. And no - haven't got a go-pro....yet.
The image of that supercharged wheelie-bin shimmying about at speed (and not losing its rubbish either!!) is indelibly stamped in my mind.....
I just did a quick calc - assuming the wheels are about 200mm dia they would have been doing around 2,640 RPM (44 revs per second) - probably a bit beyond the design brief...??

Could my month be any worse? well sure, i spose...
I drove over to Adelaide for Easter, took my riding gear, and hubby took me down to Hahndorf on his Tiger, for Good Friday. All was good, going thru the twisties, although i was holdng on too tight, stopped for lunch, rode home the Gorge scenic route. All was good til we got stuck behind a stupid Yaris woman driver, who wouldnt let us pass, and put the brakes on at every turn. Fine.... still, we got home ok. Glenelg beach covered in crap, rainy and windy all weekend, hubby having to work 12 hour shift on the Saturday. Pretty much all shops SHUT on a freakin public holiday, made me and hubby miserable, and Peter Stevens missed out on a sale.
AAAAAnyway.. did i mention my rear tire is rooted? I rode to Bendigo alone, for Black Dog Ride, and on the Sunday, whilst admiring other bikes, someone alerts me to my rear. WTF? a worn strip? almost to canvas? how did i miss it? The bike hasnt even done 5000kms yet! So i shop around locally, and decided to order Bridgestone bt023's, as suggested by Suzuki dealer, who apparently puts them on all their bikes. There goes Alost $600. Oh yeah, also had to order new front tire too, its worn all weird.
I get home from Adelaide, to find a safety recall letter from Triumph, regarding the Street Triple? WTF? Now i have to ride to Mildura next Saturday, alone, for a 20 minute job. ARRRGHHHHH. So pissed.
Oh and one of my cats has disappeared since i brought him home from the boarding kennel. Typical, i paid his registration just a week beforehand.

Re: The Rant Thread
If those were the original Dunlops they'd definitely be stuffed at 6,000kms - see other threads. The Bridgestones were no bargain at that price given the strength of the Oz $$ but beggars can't be choosers as they say (I rode to the Melbourne peninsula to put a set of Michelin PR3's on for $400 fitted because the local mobs wanted to rip me off - but it was a nice ride ). Hard luck on the recall.

Re: The Rant Thread
I really dont have much choice here. Its two hours to ride anywhere to get anything else. As there are no twisties only roundabouts around here, i wear my tires flat, wasting about $200 rubber that could be worn down, IF i lived in hill country. I had michelin qualifiers and a couple of others but as I dont ride as hard as others do, was told these ones will do ok. Im robably being ripped off, being a female and not having any freakin idea, as my hubby is never home when this shit happens. Perhaps I should have shown cleavage?Ewok1958 wrote:If those were the original Dunlops they'd definitely be stuffed at 6,000kms - see other threads. (i hate riding to Mildura, thnking a roo is gonna knock me off, and the road straight up from Swan Hill is crap. Ouyen is an hour away, then up the Calder, through Hattah, always has roadkill... and its flat road all the way)

Re: The Rant Thread
I'm sick of the free to air channels that say they support a particular sport when the reality is they don't, eg;
7: AFL coverage - sometimes don't even bother to put a match on on Saturday night
10: MotoGP coverage - yes, they have the Quatar races live, but I can't sit up all night before a working day so I expect the replay would be on at a decent time on Monday night - no, starts at 11.30pm (and we all know that will be at least 10 minutes later). So I'm probably not even going to see the first race of the season - thanks 10 )(wankers). Why not put a replay on one of the channels at a decent time?
Hope my POS Teac thingy is actually going to record it - it failed last time and I had to reformat the drive.

The best thing since sliced bread in my house is our 1Tb Panasonic HDD recorder. I record everything I would normally miss. Trouble is I dont get to watch half of it before the next race/ep is on
The recorder also acts as a media server if you're into that stuff.
