Misc Nature Photo's Thread
Since yesterdays off topic hijacking of re-cycled's ride thread, Gus and I have been challenging each other via PM to post our best nature photo.
I'm sure he wont mind if anyone else joins in. There's some good snappers amongst us.
No prizes. Just share your best work.
Rules;
I think we'll limit it to one pic each per day
Anything to do with nature.
No photoshopping except for basic adjustments.
If you're a professional you should declare it in the post.
Max 1000 pixels wide.
Description optional.
Here's the big G's effort today. Taken at home today.
Here's mine. Taken at Walhalla last year
Come on, join in

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
I wasn't really worried and it was in the "Photos and Videos" section.
Hopefully you guys have worked out that I don't take things/myself too seriously.
Anyway, I'm up for this, one photo a day, just looking through mine this is going to take some time.

Lace Monitor (Tree Goanna)
Christmas Day 2006
Approx 2 metres long and easily 30kg
This monster lived under our house for a month or 2.
He wasnt worried about the dog and the dog kept his distance.

It's obviously Mt Mitre.
Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
Close but no cigar - it's Mitre Peak in Milford Sound. One of the rare occasions it was not raining.

Not my fault, I noticed the file name of the image, googled Mt Mitre and someone had erroneously posted a photo on a travel blog labeled Mt Mitre, just can't trust some people.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
Last Feb while searching for a "cash crop" in one of our parks I walked into a spider web that almost stopped me as if I had walked into a cyclone fence.
These things build tough webs!
We didnt find the "crop" but found where it had been about a week earlier.

Blackbutt Reserve again, Bats this time.
At great risk to your intrepid photographer!
Could have ended up as guano.
