Which Date?
Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
First topic message reminder :
Ok. Towards the end of this year or early 2011 we will have an overnighter. A good chance to meet each other. Have dinner in a pub and socialise over a few beers.
I think its best to organise this in summer, much more enjoyable.
so here are my thoughts. please post up if you are interested in coming and the best time for you ie november or december etc. after about 2 or 3 weeks ill create a pole with a number of dates. then we'll take a vote. also post up anywhere that you think would be the best spot for the trip. depending on who want to come, i have no problem with even a 3 day trip.
****EDIT****
We have a final date and destination.
Date: 30/10/10
Accomodation: Festival Motor Inn, 126 Princes Highway, Narooma
Cost: $75 per night
Phone: 4476 2099
NSW GROUP:
Meet: 0900 at McDonalds, Molgoa Rd, Penrith
Route: GWH. Oberon for the first stop. Back roads to Goulburn for lunch. Across to Batemans bay for another stop. Possibly meet up with some other riders. Then down princes Hwy to Narooma. Return route yet to be finalised. Up the coast or though Kangaroo Valley.

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
We decided to not go up the bells line in the morning. instead we are just going to go up the mountain along GWH.
Cuts out some time and the bells isnt really that good anyway. Not compared to the roads we have for the afternoon. We should arrive at Batemans bay early afternoon. If we are meeting anybody there, we can arrange an exact time to pull into town. Pete, this is probably the best place to meet you. Then there is a 50km or so ride to Narooma.

Now looking at leaving early enough to meet up with you guys in Sydney and travel down with you, is the meeting place still the same?
My brother (SVdave on another forum is coming although by then he might be TDMdave ) I'm also trying to get some others to come.
If everything goes to plan and the weather cooperates.

Now that we have cut the bells out of the plan, we can afford to leave a little later if need be.
Because we are going straight up the mountain, we are now going to meet at Panthers Maccas on Molgoa Rd, Penrith.
If you do decide to come along with us pete, you wont be dissapointed. Some really awsome riding to be had on day one.
No worries stretch. Hope your son does really well. And dont worry, we'll have a couple of beers on your behalf

He competed at Wakefield on Saturday at Round 3, his 1st race on the Triumph 675 and came 3rd in his class F3 and 6th outright in Pro twins. PRETTTY chuffed as the bike is stock except for a Stainy can.

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
Hi all I have come to the conclusion that I cant make this trip
Oct was always going to be tough for me work wise and out of the bushfire royal commission the work load has increased (and overtime) already.
I hope the ride is an annual event and maybe next year its within a day trip for me Unlikely I know.
Hope you all have a great weekend and take lots of pix and vid.

We will be doing an annual overnighter for sure,
Might even have a few others here and there if people are up for it.
Only a few weeks to go

how many definites do we have? im going to take a punt on the accommodation and see what there when we arrive - unless anyone has prior experience that this isnt a good plan
Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
It needs to be outside of our fire season and a few other restrictions for me to commit to a couple of days this time of year. I'll be thinking of you thoughCameron wrote:We will be doing an annual overnighter for sure,

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
I might even be able to con a couple of these blokes into a south tour. So we'll come to you. I want to go away for a few days next year. Might have to catch up along the way.
Ill update the original post with who have confirmed.
Potato, I reckon you should be right. If they are booked out when we get there, there is another motel across the street you could always stay at.

Guys,
I'm not a definite. The missus wants us to do a Canberra breast cancer ride that weekend out to Bungendore with her friend (who has a VTR250 and was previously diagnosed with breast cancer). Looks like I'm in for that one. Sorry about that - just one of those conflicts that come up.

Regards,
I'm only allowed a day pass, so I'd be keen for you to join me for a day trip if you like. Meet the group at Tarago and on from there.
Tony.

Hey Cameron,
you can put me down as confirmed for the overnighter. Rang and booked a room this morning at the Festival.
I'll probably meet you all at Goulburn when you stop for lunch.

Yep, should be good. ''
At the Canberra end of Goulburn, where the big Marino and macca"s are, there's a bakehouse that is a good place to stop for lunch if your not sure where to stop.
It's pretty easy to get onto the road to Tarago from there as well.

That would be good, I have a mate from Canberra meeting us at Oberon (GSX1000) but he can't stay for the night.
Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
Badger...great minds think alike. I stop there every time im in goulburn. Thats out lunch stop. We should arrive there at around 12:30 ish. Give or take a bit.
Then its another hour and half or so to Batemans bay. Then head south down the coast and arrive at Narooma late-ish arvo.

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
Big ride is getting close now, do you Sydney guys have any suggestions about the best route from the end of the F3 to the start point, bearing in mind we don't have tags or toll passes, prefer a toll-free route, shouldn't be too hard that time of the morning?
Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
At the end of F3, I would continue on the same road (more or less) into Carlingford, make a left turn into the road I have no idea of what its called, and make your way onto Silverwater Rd, turn right onto M4 which should really now be called the F4 as no tolls.
I've been thinking you might need a guide Peter ... meet you at PITS ??
