Which Date?
Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
First topic message reminder :
Ok. Towards the end of this year or early 2011 we will have an overnighter. A good chance to meet each other. Have dinner in a pub and socialise over a few beers.
I think its best to organise this in summer, much more enjoyable.
so here are my thoughts. please post up if you are interested in coming and the best time for you ie november or december etc. after about 2 or 3 weeks ill create a pole with a number of dates. then we'll take a vote. also post up anywhere that you think would be the best spot for the trip. depending on who want to come, i have no problem with even a 3 day trip.
****EDIT****
We have a final date and destination.
Date: 30/10/10
Accomodation: Festival Motor Inn, 126 Princes Highway, Narooma
Cost: $75 per night
Phone: 4476 2099
NSW GROUP:
Meet: 0900 at McDonalds, Molgoa Rd, Penrith
Route: GWH. Oberon for the first stop. Back roads to Goulburn for lunch. Across to Batemans bay for another stop. Possibly meet up with some other riders. Then down princes Hwy to Narooma. Return route yet to be finalised. Up the coast or though Kangaroo Valley.

Baz wrote:At the end of F3, I would continue on the same road (more or less) into Carlingford, make a left turn into the road I have no idea of what its called, and make your way onto Silverwater Rd, turn right onto M4 which should really now be called the F4 as no tolls.
Thanks Baz, that's just the sort of input I was looking for, I wasn't sure if there were roads to avoid on Saturday morning or a "locals only " route that cut out trouble spots. We are not totally unfamiliar with the area, I picked up my replacement motor from Metropolitan Spares in Silverwater Road and we went to BIKEBIZ a couple of weeks after that.
Baz wrote:I've been thinking you might need a guide Peter ... meet you at PITS ??
Thanks again, but isn't this a bit out of your way? Also we would have to leave the F3, the idea was to take the fastest, most direct route to get to the start and leave the fun riding for later as we have so far to go.
In the car I can get from my place to the end of the F3 in 1hr 15min, we are planning to leave at 0700 if you wanted to ride part of the way with us that would be much appreciated but it may be simpler if we all meet at the rendezvous.
Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
Yeah, I didn't really want to go to PITS.
I went that route today, by the heagonal numbers it goes like this 1, 7, 6, M4 get off on Mulgoa turn right .. can't miss it

Lets make one thing clear!!!
It will not rain...it will be beuitiful sunny skies all weekend. Thats a week away, anything can happen by then.
It will only rain if you talk about it. SO NO MORE RAIN TALK!!
on a more positive note...ITS ONLY A WEEK AWAY!!!!

Hey Cam, have you figured out the timings for the joiners en-route?
Also, and other joiners from Canberra/Queanbeyan?
Cheers Peter

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
Ok...well i guess we should start talking business regarding weather.
So far its not looking so bad for saturday, but looks like rain sunday, especially in the arvo. Weather forecast is the same here is it is down at Narooma.
Weather isnt going to stop me, im fine with a bit of rain..ill be at the meet point regardless. I hope everybody else see's it the same as i do.
just put some wet weather gear on and you'll be fine.
The way it usually works is that if we all wear wet wether gear, it wont rain...if we dont wear it, itll piss down, so i go with the first idea

Well I said I won't bail unless the Sydney guys do, so I guess I'm committed .
There are 2 Maccas in Goulburn, at least 37km in 15min, what are you suggesting.
Is there a service station near the meeting point, I'll need a top-up by then.

When you turn right off the M4, there is a shell servo about 200m down molgoa road. If you dont like using shell, there is a BP and a Quix on the other side of the road a little further down, both before you get to maccas.
I should add, can everybody please meet at maccas with a full tank. Next top up will be at Picton, then nothing till goulburn.

Thanks Cameron,
Did you mean Oberon not Picton, I thought we were going inland?
BTW Penrith to Goulburn via Oberon is only 280km, that's only 1 tankful

I'm still in, not to bothered with the rain as long as it's not to heavy.
Tony I think we're meeting at the bakehouse Goulburn, near the big Marino at around 12.30pm.
Cameron. I'll PM you my mobile number.

Here's hoping you Banditers have a good and safe trip.
Does NSW have double demerit points this weekend That may have been some unfortunate planning
I wish I was riding with you and getting some video of the antics on display. Hopefully I'll be there next year.
Have fun people.

lol yeah no double demerts.
yep oberon, not picton...i get confused sometimes
We will be having lunch at the bakehouse. So looks like ill see you guys there.
Im just about to PM everybody my mobile, so if you get stuck or running late or whatnot, you can give me a shout.
Looks like ill see you all in the morning or some point during the day.
Potato, if the weather looks crap sunday, i reckon we will all head off early and hit the freeway for the quickest way home.

You should stop at the Caltex on the M4 at Eastern Creek, about 15kms before you get to Penrith. It's obvious so you shouldn't miss it.
I think we'll do a quick top up at Oberon, Cameron gets carried away sometimes and thinks he is still on his GS500.

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
Well what an awsome 2 days.
Id just like to start with a big thanks for everybody that came for the weekend. It was a great couple of days. And got no rain at all. From the meet point to narooma, we did 620km. so a decent first day. Had a good mean and a chat over a few drinks at the local pub. Rain a fair bit that night. Woke up in the morning and the sun was trying to come out. Roads a little wet for the first hour or so, but after that it was dry all the way home.
Was really surprised that we didnt get a drop at all while we where riding. Thats why i say you must always have faith.
Also there where no incidents for the whole trip. We where running a bit late saturday. The newcastle boys where a little late then hit bad traffic at roadworks up the mountain.
So we where a little late to Goulburn to meet Rolls and badger.
But it was a great couple of days.
Potato had to get home early today so he left before most of us where up. So i hope you had a good run home. And thats why he isnt in many of the photos that ill post up later.
On the run home today, we went up the princess hwy, then decided instead of wollongong, we went up kangaroo valley...thanks Baz, im glad we did. not wet at all and no traffic..had a great run up the mountain.
There where some pretty awsome roads on both days.
So again, thanks to all that came for a great ride.
Stay tuned for the next weekend away early in the new year. Its going to be another cracker.
