Which Date?
Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
First topic message reminder :
Ok. Towards the end of this year or early 2011 we will have an overnighter. A good chance to meet each other. Have dinner in a pub and socialise over a few beers.
I think its best to organise this in summer, much more enjoyable.
so here are my thoughts. please post up if you are interested in coming and the best time for you ie november or december etc. after about 2 or 3 weeks ill create a pole with a number of dates. then we'll take a vote. also post up anywhere that you think would be the best spot for the trip. depending on who want to come, i have no problem with even a 3 day trip.
****EDIT****
We have a final date and destination.
Date: 30/10/10
Accomodation: Festival Motor Inn, 126 Princes Highway, Narooma
Cost: $75 per night
Phone: 4476 2099
NSW GROUP:
Meet: 0900 at McDonalds, Molgoa Rd, Penrith
Route: GWH. Oberon for the first stop. Back roads to Goulburn for lunch. Across to Batemans bay for another stop. Possibly meet up with some other riders. Then down princes Hwy to Narooma. Return route yet to be finalised. Up the coast or though Kangaroo Valley.

just came back from the south coast, and didn't do all the riding I planned on but I did a ride to Narooma. The Festival Motel is across the road and up a bit from the Lynch's Hotel who also have accommodation

I could kick myself for not taking the camera with me that day.
There is no undercover parking in the motel (that I could see) and anyone walking by will see the bikes and if motivated might be able to access them (sit upon), Narooma is built on a hill and motel is more or less on the summit. A short walk across the road and down the hill will place you in Flynch's Hotel (wished I got off the bike and went inside now) the hotel has accommodation and looked like it was built entirely out of wood and I would hope there would be a wood fire inside (but it won't be cold in Oct 31). A little more walk down the hill brings you to O'Brian's Hotel (with the greatest view in the world) but that looked like they were doing renovations.

Yeah, I'm still keen. I'll meet up at Goulburn. It's a great ride from there to doughboy (near Braidwood).

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
"takes after his mother?" No, he's just as handsome as his dear old dad.
That's not the image I wanted to post, and I should have posted it in the off topic area. A couple of mates came around on their way home from work to congratulate me and the three of us polished off a bottle of rum. I was so pissed I was just happy to get an image (any image) up after so many tries. I tried to blame the Mac laptop I was using, but I'm pretty sure it was me being drunk and clueless.
Hopefully he and the wife will be home tomorrow. Here's hoping.

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
I'm trying to organise a group to ride down so I don't have to do it alone. Bearing in mind that we have about 160km further to go can anyone suggest a route from Sydney (say from Parramatta) that will be good on a bike, we generally go out of our way to avoid highways and freeways where possible, or even the "must do" roads that we should try and incorporate in our plans.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
I'm still trying to align the planets so I can make this trip.
I'll be doing the full 1000km return on my own unless I find someone to play with on the way.

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
thats ok - many years ago i rode from sydney to kingaroy in one hit on my GSX1100 and apart from the rain for the last 2 hours of it it was good
Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
I might even be able to make that one as a day tripper. Except that I'd be coming up from Bemboka rather than down from Canberra. Wouldn't be able to stay o/night but should be able to down a glass or two before heading back to the Bega Valley.
Have you guys got an arrival time at Narooma worked out yet?
