Which Date?
Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
Ok. Towards the end of this year or early 2011 we will have an overnighter. A good chance to meet each other. Have dinner in a pub and socialise over a few beers.
I think its best to organise this in summer, much more enjoyable.
so here are my thoughts. please post up if you are interested in coming and the best time for you ie november or december etc. after about 2 or 3 weeks ill create a pole with a number of dates. then we'll take a vote. also post up anywhere that you think would be the best spot for the trip. depending on who want to come, i have no problem with even a 3 day trip.
****EDIT****
We have a final date and destination.
Date: 30/10/10
Accomodation: Festival Motor Inn, 126 Princes Highway, Narooma
Cost: $75 per night
Phone: 4476 2099
NSW GROUP:
Meet: 0900 at McDonalds, Molgoa Rd, Penrith
Route: GWH. Oberon for the first stop. Back roads to Goulburn for lunch. Across to Batemans bay for another stop. Possibly meet up with some other riders. Then down princes Hwy to Narooma. Return route yet to be finalised. Up the coast or though Kangaroo Valley.

Nov is better than Dec for me work wise.
I'm interested anywhere south of Syd. Coast?

I'd need to check with the family, but I'm interested. November is better. As for destination, how about the NSW South Coast, Batemans Bay area.

I could be a starter, but with work & home I can't confirm or deny anything until normally the last minute.
Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
I'm a starter .. and Bateman's Bay / Moruya / Narooma / or thereabouts sounds good for me.
I'm also thinking about doing Tasmania in January / February .. I've got to do it before I get too old for it, I've only been there in a tin can and saw all the bikes on the ferry and I thought .. "what brave souls coming down here in october weather" .. then when I went around the roads I vowed next visit would be on 2 wheels.

Good to see there is plenty of interest. south coast sounds like a plan. Well ill leave it a little longer to see if anybody else is up for it, then ill post up a few dates, and we'll have a vote.
I think we'll have a vote on destination as well.

Bugger, I checked with my social planner last night, and November is not good for me. Apparently we have my father-in-laws 80th birthday in Tamworth, our eldest sons 21st in Melbourne and our youngest sons 15th (no travel involved).

Ok, not only do we have the above, it turns out that, at quite some expense, the youngest is going to Qld in November/Demember for a school excursion, so because we will be 'financially disadvanteged' you'll have to count me out at this stage. Sorry.

Good to hear baz.I put my vote in but it doesnt worry me either.
I put the poll there mainly for those who cant get away many weekends.
Please vote for the best one, but if it doesnt matter and you can make any of them, let me know.

Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
Im keen for this . South Coast of NSW IS IDEAL. I have stayed at the Tabourie Lake Motel a number of times on rides and they provide a good allround venue. Plenty of rooms, licensed retaurant, reasonable rates, swimming pool etc. Staying there in a few weeks for a weekend away and for a double room $75. Rooms are 3 + stars.
And no im not related to the owners just have found them very obliging. One weekend we stayed there we asked for a meal at the restaurant and we were the only ones there!. A typical weekend cost for 2 including accommodation, drinks (WINE AND BEER) 3 course meal and breakfast around $200.
Anyway my thoughts and put me down as a definate maybe for whatever the weekend.

Mate anywhere with a clean bed and a hot shower, good tucker and safe bike parking. Beer not important.Cameron wrote:So i know what to look for in terms of accomodation, does anybody have a strict price limit and such?

Looks like October is the favourite. And it will only be a one nighter.

I'll work on that but chances are a lot less Any idea of location yet?
Re: Bandit weekender meet 30/10/10 - 31/10/10
Ok so 30 - 31 October looks like the winner.
Just looking at a few places at the moment. Full info on the ride will be posted by Sunday.
Ill post up the info of the accomodation, and people can book their own rooms. Anybody is welcome, so if youve got a mate or somthing thats wants in, they are more than welcome to come along.

I'm keen to get along and meet everyone, but I can't stay for the night. There'll be a new baby in the house and I know I wont get a leave pass for more than a few hours.
