Bandit meet 6-8 March 2015 Parkes NSW
First topic message reminder :
Ok, here's my thoughts on a Bandit meet up for 2015.
As per the topic title, Parkes is the meeting place. The time is March 6-8 2015. The Coachman Hotel/Motel is where we have booked in to stay.
I'm thinking of a 180 odd km ride on the Saturday that encompasses Manildra, Cudal, Eugowra, Forbes & back to Parkes.
JTB has also suggested a ride out to Temora as there is a aviation show on at the Temora airfield. (I hope I got that right)
Anyone interested in this?
Cheers, Kiwisteve
For anyone that hasn't seen this post before, I've done a heap of editing to simplify things.
C'mon folks, let's get a few more people along to this.

The destination lines are a great idea. Keep that in. As for the rest. Keep it simple. JMO.

We've just got to work out what to put on the rest that says what it needs to without over crowding the rest of the design, any good word smiths amongst us?
Would have been a whole lot easier if the GSX had been called the Bandit S touring like it is in other parts of the world.
Re: Bandit meet 6-8 March 2015 Parkes NSW
The Bandit GT is not the same thing as a GSX. The GT is a Bandit S with lower fairings added. The fairings are different
What ever design you come up with I'm happy with, and I will want 1 T-shirt. Can I just asked one thing, can you find out the chest size of a L and an XL please? I've found huge differences between one brand and another

Agree with you MM. Best way to get the right sizes is to measure a shirt laid flat from armpit to armpit. Compare to one you have already. Getting back to the design. Maybe Chook should ask Cam to decide on the wording, seeing as it is his website. Then it would be final.

It's still 8 months away, I reckon I'll get serious quotes/sizes etc closer to Christmasmadmax wrote:The Bandit GT is not the same thing as a GSX. The GT is a Bandit S with lower fairings added. The fairings are different

Sounds good to meHammy wrote:Maybe Chook should ask Cam to decide on the wording, seeing as it is his website. Then it would be final.
If the web address was au, aust, or australian instead of nsw I'd suggest just put the web adress on it, but nsw doesn't really reflect the national site it has become

Would that also include my lowly GSF1250? Why not just put Bandit on it, and leave it at that?

Thats why I did the caps that way. Admittedly theres more room on the T-Shirt but everyone knows the bikes as Bandits don't they? My Bandit was a GSF1200S but did I ever refer to it as such, NO. Thats why bikes become cult bikes and have titles everyone in the biking fraternity relates too.
What do you ride Hammy?
A Honda CBR1100XX mate.
You mean a Blackbird?
Yeah, I guess so.
Dickhead.
Just my keep it simple philosophy. Please don't be offended anyone. ( Except Hammy ).

You know you can't offend me Sugar. After that night we spent together. The way you did so many things in under a minute. You were right. It was just like being on a Quiz Show.

Thinking about the "BIG WEEKEND" next march. Time for some of you southern boys n gals to come up with somewhere and something to do on the Saturday. As we did in Cowra. A morning start ride . Lunch. And then a different route back. I'm sure some of you know some interesting roads and places down that way. Even an event in a near by town could be interesting.

Yip. That's a given. We can even incorporate that into the sat' ride. I'm hoping there is something good to go and check out somewhere. As well as the telescope.

Mt Tilga at Condobolin. Supposed to be the geographical Centre of NSW.
330m high. Good views, apparently.
Unsure if there's a road to the top or if you have to hoof it.

The powers that be are closing the Dish. Im not sure if it will be accessible next March, the government have pulled the funding. You can obviously still see the bloody thing, its huge.
I'll do a bit of homework and see what I can come up with in regards things to do on the Saturday. Temora aviation museum is unreal and well worth seeing. There might be a country race meeting on in the area if that suits. Hammy I've already pointed out a different way home earlier on in this thread, have you been paying attention?

Different way home from where ?
I think my way home will be different to yours, seeing as I'll be heading north.

From Parkes heading southeast I can get you to Gundagai on back roads for 90% of the way. I haven't checked out northeast I'm sorry mate. Kiwi Steve might be your best bet there.

Mate, I've been told where to go most of me life. When I ride alone I go where I want to. No offence.

That is a shame, still I'd like to go out there and maybe get some photos of the group with the dish in the background. If possible

There's a couple of us interested in going down to the Temora Aviation Museum on Saturday (if we don't do it on the way up and that looks pretty unlikely) - me, itag and Jim Coleman.
