Misc Nature Photo's Thread
First topic message reminder :
Since yesterdays off topic hijacking of re-cycled's ride thread, Gus and I have been challenging each other via PM to post our best nature photo.
I'm sure he wont mind if anyone else joins in. There's some good snappers amongst us.
No prizes. Just share your best work.
Rules;
I think we'll limit it to one pic each per day
Anything to do with nature.
No photoshopping except for basic adjustments.
If you're a professional you should declare it in the post.
Max 1000 pixels wide.
Description optional.
Here's the big G's effort today. Taken at home today.
Here's mine. Taken at Walhalla last year
Come on, join in

We have a couple of Black Shouldered Kites that are familiar with us now and are happy to pose for photos.
We also found a rare White Necked Heron.
These stand over 1.5m tall and have a 2m wing span.
Not sure whats in its beak. Possible a rock for a mate in the nest.

Great shots Chris. BIF's are the coolest shots when you nail them.

Seems that you are having all the fun lately Chris, really enjoying the quality of the images, except that it could convince me to fork out for a new camera
Here is a friendly local I met on a recent sojourn in the Byron Bay area, weather was mostly crap, La Niña need a good smack!
Near as I can tell it is a Yellow Faced Whip Snake.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
Today with my tax return I bought a Nikon Coolpix L810. My old Fuijiflim had been dropped and the LCD screen at the back was not working.
I would have liked to have bought a DSLR but my tax return came no where near allowing me that luxury.
The L810 has 26x telephoto and 16 mega pixels. As a point and shot camera it a step up from my FuijiFilm camera.
Set in Vivid colour mode and used the supplied Marco setting.

You'll have to put some seed out Ewok.
The trouble is that birds can't keep a secret and the nice little couple you start to feed quickly turns into 300 of all varieties.
There will be a white/red/pink/black/grey cloud following us down the road to the new place on Oct I'm sure.
