Thanks Hammy It turned out better than I was expecting and, yeah I thought I had the whole rose in the shot but I was wrong.
2WA - a humerous compliment from the Master at my expense is always encouraging.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
Just about to go on our Putty ride and this noisy fellow caught my attention, aren't usually on such a low branch so I couldn't pass it up.
Koel I believe.

Surprised no one has posted any photosof the eclipse
Did any Bandit photographers get any of the eclipse they would like to share? Must be someone between Cairns and Sydney that thought to get a few shots. Apparently the next fulll eclipse in Aust is in Sydney in 2026 or thereabouts.
If I had thought of it i would have snapped a few but I thought the video camera (yes I said video camera) would be the go but that didnt work out.

Christmas Day 2006
Approx 2 metres long and easily 30kg
This monster lived under our house for a month or 2.
He wasnt worried about the dog and the dog kept his distance.
Wow, big boy there!
They do seem pretty harmless, my trouble is my Doberman bitch, just goes for anything that moves, I do naturally try to discourage this, but its instinct, and living on 3 acres outta town, I suspect her involvement with a brown is only a matter of time....
How that will go is anyones guess. I had a previous german shepherd who killed a brown, I think its a kinda, they have it or haven't skill for killing them.
but that's a croc lookalike!!!!

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
I have become rusty in my absence so please forgive these ordinary shots.
I probably missed my camera more than any other piece of equipment.
I see there has been some rippers while I was away and its good to see people still contributing.
Down our way its Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo season. I love these birds and their friendly chatter. Why are White Cockatoos so ear piercing?

I got home from work & gym today and was confronted by a drop bear in our back yard waiting for its next victim
Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
What a lovely visitor to have. I am a bit like you at the mo' 2W, as in that I have not been snapping as often as I should. My right eyesight is slowly getting worse, and I have to wait till about auguast to have the lens transplant. Aw well.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
It was a nice day last Sunday so we went cruising for birds of prey (dont we all do that? )
We found some local Wedge Tailed Eagles that Melody had been keeping an eye on.
Here's two of the 5 locals.
