Misc Nature Photo's Thread
First topic message reminder :
Since yesterdays off topic hijacking of re-cycled's ride thread, Gus and I have been challenging each other via PM to post our best nature photo.
I'm sure he wont mind if anyone else joins in. There's some good snappers amongst us.
No prizes. Just share your best work.
Rules;
I think we'll limit it to one pic each per day
Anything to do with nature.
No photoshopping except for basic adjustments.
If you're a professional you should declare it in the post.
Max 1000 pixels wide.
Description optional.
Here's the big G's effort today. Taken at home today.
Here's mine. Taken at Walhalla last year
Come on, join in

Great colours guys, and good eyes on the spider, keep up the good work.
Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
Chris you have encountered the problem of DOF and Macro, try illuminating the subject with a small LED torch held between your two of your left fingers then pushing your f/stop up to f/11 or f/22.
This is why guys who are serious about Macro go to great lengths to designing their lighting systems, I prefer the simple methods, PS I suffer from arachnophobia and that would have been a bottle of wine and two Valium shot for me.

Yeah Chris I wasn't after the money shot in this case. I mainly wanted to have a closer look without him buggering off.

My Partners 'Desert Rose' has decided to bloom this year. As you can see by the plant, it is well designed for a desert life.

They are a native of Africa. Not really a rose. Will grow up to 2 mts high. This one is only about 18" or 450mm high and was Jans late mothers, so is quite a few years old.

Don't worry my bug only lives on humus and faeces, must be why it's attracted to forums!
