Misc Nature Photo's Thread
First topic message reminder :
Since yesterdays off topic hijacking of re-cycled's ride thread, Gus and I have been challenging each other via PM to post our best nature photo.
I'm sure he wont mind if anyone else joins in. There's some good snappers amongst us.
No prizes. Just share your best work.
Rules;
I think we'll limit it to one pic each per day
Anything to do with nature.
No photoshopping except for basic adjustments.
If you're a professional you should declare it in the post.
Max 1000 pixels wide.
Description optional.
Here's the big G's effort today. Taken at home today.
Here's mine. Taken at Walhalla last year
Come on, join in

Took a short drive out to Marlay Point yesterday.
Lake Wellington was looking great and the Fairy Terns were enjoying the sunshine too.

Sorry, but I only have a cheap camera and can't zoom in very far. These little guys are around all year.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
Don’t worry about your camera Kaupy. Some of my entries were shot with a $99 point & shoot 3 X zoom job.
We seem to have a bird theme going at the moment with Hammys being the odd one out but an excellent shot too.
You had better confess what gear you’re using Hammy
I think Gus has just nailed the Nightjar to his tree Top shot though Gus.

I meen they dont move ,sleep in the daytime ,look good ,sleep in the some spot most nights ,sleep the same height as our back deck in a tree
15 ft away , let you pat them .I walk out in the morning and they eyeball me , dont even have to look for them .
Hammy, EVERYONE would be proud of that shot .A+++++++++

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
What are you talking about 2WA, Gus is just posting photos of bark, isn't he?
The common cormorant or shag
Lays eggs inside a paper bag
The reason you will see no doubt
It is to keep the lightning out
But what these unobservant birds
Have never noticed is that herds
Of wandering bears may come with buns
And steal the bags to hold the crumbs.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
About time you posted a bird pic. Gus, very nice
I happened to be near Shoal Bay , at lunch time today. The angle of the sun on the cliffs caught my eye, so I stopped for some quick snaps.
Yacaaba Head on the left and Tomaree Head on the right.

Ok. Looks like I gotta get me a better camera. I got a pair of these nesting in a box my daughter made and hung in a gum tree down the back.
