Re: Your past/present bike
First bike was a 1980 XL185s then didnt ride for decades.
Then,
Honda 83 CBX250rs. Epic bike. Loved it. 4 valve twin cam, twin carb single. Owned most modern 250s with 33hp.
Kawaka GPZ400r, alloy framed 400 with 60 hp. Fast for a 400 and owned most 600s.
And me Bandit K1. Will not be sold ever.

Re: Your past/present bike
Hi,
I have not been riding long either, but the bikes I've had in my shed (I have to share them with my wife):
GS500 - My learner bike, I loved that thing.
DN-01 - My wires first bike, we still have it. She rides it mostly but I like the convenience of twist and go on occasion.
GSF1250SA - My bike enough said.
GSF1250S - Track bike, almost rebuilt from a write off.
Rob

Do any good? Got a limp and some permanent back injuries.....
Drag racing was a lot of fun but a heap of money for 9sec or so of fun, and it is more again to be major competitive. (Suzuki GSX1100 EFE, modified)
I loved flat track/dirt track but I hurt myself wrecking in a road bike stack and had to let it go. Still its a great time and teaches you great bike skills. Plus you can do it on a worn out old MXer and still do well (Mostly YZ250 2 bangers)
MX, I fly like a brick and I hate jumps. Not my idea of fun but still proud I gave it a go.
Road Racing is perfection in my opinion. A lot of fun and affordable if done right. The most fun I had was small stuff on short track. No HP to cover up bad skills and money spent means nothing on a wet short circuit. I did ok, few 3rds, top 5's etc, but honestly it was for the mates and the laughs. My RS125 was my favorite, but a lot of fun was had on 400's and some bigger stuff.
Not a lot of trophies but a stack of laughs, great weekends away and very few regrets. Everyone should have a turn at least once, even if it is just a street drag meet.
31 now but will prob have another go when I get financial again, either 400's or back to dirt track. Wife (also an ex racer) wants to go sidecar but I have my doubts.
And I forgot to add a Honda Monkey (regoed) to my bike list....... thats kinda sad

Re: Your past/present bike
1990 - Honda CB750/4 K2 - I didn't even have a licence and the bike came in a milk crate and some plastic bags - cost $200. Took 12 months and more than $200 to rebuild. but was worth it, taught me a lot about bikes
1992 - Kawasaki Z1R MKII - This bike was built by a guy called Phil at ProFlow in Woolloongabba as a show piece for his shop. Great bike and in hindsight it was a mistake to sell it
1998 - Kawasaki GPz1000RX - hated that bike, and in the end it got a stone chip in the front form a Mitsubishi Colt. The Colt got a stone chip in the rear quarter panel. So we were square
2000 - Kawasaki ZZR1100-D4 - Great bike, very forgiving. Sold for family reasons (what else?!)
2012 - Current bike '12 GSX1250SA

Re: Your past/present bike
2003 - GPx250 (died pretty quickly, bloody POS)
2003 - Honda NT650 Revere (motorcycle equivalent to valium, so boring I sold it fairly rapidly)
2004 - Yamaha SZR660 (most fun bike ever, but needed cash in a hurry at one point and it got sold too)
2004 - Suzuki GS500
2005 - 1983 GPz750 (still have this one )
2007 - 1997 XJR1200 ("Betty", absolutely fantastic bike, should never have sold it)
2008 - 2002 ZZR1200 - Scared the sh*t out of my wife - sold
2009 - 2006 Suzuki M109r (Wonderful bike, will sorely miss this one)
2012 - 2006 Suzuki GSF1200S (...and here we are today)
Also in that time;
Last year had a fantastic, blinged up 2004 Z750 (got sold to buy house*)
This year I've restored a 1980 Honda C90 SuperCub (with a mild CT110 engine).

Re: Your past/present bike
Yamaha GT50 - Dad bought this for my brother and me in 1973. I rode it heaps doing something like 3800miles on a block of a couple of acres.
Suzuki PE175
Yamaha XS650
Honda XL 500 - first one with Prolink rear suspension
Suzuki Katana 650
Then had a pretty long break away from motorbikes.
Honda VF 1000 - very interesting on dirt roads with that 16" front wheel.
Another break from bikes until I got into them at work.
Work bikes:
Honda XR400 - training
BMW 1150
BMW K1200
Gave bikes away at work so I got back into private ownership
Suzuki Vstrom 650
Suzuki DR 650
Suzuki M50
Honda CRF 230 - a ripper bike!
Suzuki GSX1250FA - ordered and paid for, just waiting for delivery SOON I hope!!!

Past and Present Bike
GN 250
Gus the GN would sit comfortably all day at 100kph. I did clock her at 120 at times (wife with heavy wrist), only thing was at those speeds struggled to get oil to top end. Result was two top end overhauls.
