Post  Chook Sun 30 Mar 2014, 7:33 pm

First topic message reminder :

Is there anyone else from SA  considering going to the Bandit meet 2015

I'm a 99.9% goer at this stage and will most likely be taking my (by then 16yo) daughter along as well.

If anyone else is considering it, I'd be happy to check out accommodation on the way, most likely Hay if it's a 2 day ride, last trip that way stayed at the Riverina Hotel, 2 years ago it cost $35 for a twin room and the bike was locked up securely in a car port out the back.

I asked them about bookings, they said if we booked 2 weeks in advance we'd be right, thought I'd leave it 'till new year

I figured with no deposit it didn't really matter.
Just confirm the booking 2 weeks prior

Is anyone else considering going to the Bandit meet 2015 - Page 2 Empty It's all new to me

Post  Rayman06 Tue 04 Nov 2014, 4:35 pm

Hi all

I'm new to the forum (and having a bandit for that matter). Am thinking about the trip having read all the posts. What goes on at the event??

Would it be OK to add myself to the SA entourage should work allow it??

Cheers, Michael

You are most welcome, at this stage my daughter (Kaylah) and I plan on leaving Adelaide early (6ish) on the Thursday morning, early riding on the SE Freeway isn't as bad as a lot of other roads.
My other thought was if we could get some real cheap rooms at Lameroo or close to there, leave Wednesday afternoon and make the next day more leisurely  after a nice night in a small country pub

Thanks for pretty speedy replies! That sounds really good Chook, especially Thursday option. Getting the wednesday off a real stretch for me but wednesday arvo a possibility.

Early start always good too. Will keep a eye on this thread and things in general. Speaking shit and having a drink always pleasant.

Are you still considering doing the trip Rayman, if you are you might want to think about booking ahead,

Kaylah and I are booked into the www.newcrownhotel.com.au at Hay, (Barry's got a passenger they wont let stay so he's made other arrangements)  and the main group are staying at the Coachman Inn in Parkes.

So far confirmed leaving Adelaide on the Thursday for Hay is myself and my daughter, Kaylah, we'll be meeting SuzySuzuki at the VIC/NSW border on the way to Hay

Leaving Melbourne  is mad_max and spanna, they are meeting Barry at the ferry before riding to Hay for Thursday night

My passenger is not one of the banned 1%ers, he just drools a little too much for most hotels - bit unfair considering the company we keep  Razz

Is anyone else considering going to the Bandit meet 2015 - Page 2 Image010

I've booked a 3 bedroom cottage in the centre of Hay for Thursday night (5 Mar) if anyone is interested in sharing, still has one bedroom with a queen bed and the last with two singles, works out to about $60 each if all three room get taken.  Its not that far from the New Crown where MM and Chook are staying.

In Parkes I've booked into the Moonraker Motor Inn (formerly Best Western), its about 5 minutes up the road from the Coachman.  They too are a slobber friendly establishment Wink

I reckon you'd be able to use Axel as ballast for the chair for LH corners, despite the weight increase cornering should be faster with him there Smile

G'day All. I might make the effort with the partner if her and my work permits us. Might do a tag along or meet in Hay.

I did the same Sunday, apparently there has been a change of manager since we booked, I was told when booking that if I reminded them confirming the bikes could go in a shed, the girl I spoke to wasn't sure if that would still be ok or not but assures me they will be able to go in a off street area at the rear of the pub near the rooms. I'll have my cover and alarmed disc lock so I'm not too fussed, Lyn has a Kryptonite lock so she will be fine
