bored, and stuck in a room!!
had shoulder surgery, and stuck In a room, with music, tv, books, and nerd box for companionship. Oh, and the spider web outside that I so desperately want to see go about his business!!
I see a lot of the same users on here, at all hours of the day,
what do you lot do to have constant access here all the time ?
I`d normally be doing tradesman stuff, and don`t even look at the device until dark typically, unless RDO, to kill a bit of time!
hey, I`m bored!

Hope the surgery went ok. All the best in the recovery. I know how it feels to be without the use of an arm for a while. . I spend quite a bit of time in my office and at the computer. Then at home I will get on-line also. Geeeeez, I must get a life.

Hope the surgery went well.
As for how I find the time - well most of my job involves running reports from various systems then analysing or summarising those reports. So I jump on here and other forums while I wait for the reports to run.

I do heavy patching on the roads MtBW so a lot of my day is spent waiting in my truck on the side of the road for my turn in the order of procedures. So I get on the old iPhone to have a laugh and kill time.

Me, I'm retired.
I'm on here between showers, it might not be as cold as Canberra, but it sure does rain heaps down here in Tassie. Someone should dam a couple of the rivers arround here and put in some hydro-electricity plants, hmm

I lived in Tassie 1972 to 1979, first 2 years in Launceston, remainder in Hobart.barry_mcki wrote:Me, I'm retired.

You're absolutely right Barry re the weather.
My best advice to people holidaying on the apple isle is only in February (in my experience it rains for the other eleven months).
I think Gus is going there next February. Good timing in my opinion.
I regard Launceston as the superior location. Hobart gets an afternoon sea breeze often including showers.
One negative is the stupid looking bridge over the Tamar River not too far from Barry's place. What committee designed that?
I moved from Tassie to Canberra. Now that was a fine decision weatherwise.

I dunno - it sort of suits Tassie - a little bit odd looking. Taken from our front veranda last February when it wasn't raining:BanditDave wrote:

When we moved to Canberra in 1987 it was that cold the petrol caps were frozen on the cars, everyone used their credit cards to scrape the ice of their windscreens. was still in the Army back then, we used to go for 5 km runs before work, only place I've been to where you are putting on your tracksuit during the race .
I actual stopped working 2 years ago, took a year off long service/annual leave then put in my papers a little over 12 months ago.
PS - its raining again .
Re: bored, and stuck in a room!!
Alright for you lot , I just got home a short while ago from work ( I do sometimes check emails / forums in the mornings before I leave )...............crappy old Nokia , & can't boot the office staff of their computers at work .

Sorry to hear about your arm, hope boredom doesn't get the better of you!!. As a newbie I'm finding myself addicted to this site and think I've read virtually all the topics here and learning bucket loads. i work in an one of two offices and get the chance to log on through the day. Iphone comes in handy when I get the shakes if a computer isnt in site. I won't say what I do...... but keep watching those insurance ads.... sorry, have to pay the bills and buy all the goods for the projects I've seen on here

Holy guacamole Batman, our hideout has been found, I wonder what gave us away ?
Re: bored, and stuck in a room!!
Semi-Retired.
Ride a quite a bit. Minimal Facebook (oh I'm on it, don't post much) I don't use Instagram, Twitter, or any of the newer crop of social media at all.
Forums, yeah. This one, dungbeetles, netrider, regularly. look in on Ulys now and then. Shop on line a lot.
I really spend way too much time in front of a computer. Don't most people these days?

wash your mouth out with soap!!!SuzySuzuki wrote: please tell me you dont watch those horrid insurance ads and informercials!
I`m a stiff, I watch ABC, and SBS.
I do not have a commercial bone in my body. every time you turn on the THOSE stations, its bullshit reality tv, or dumb arse talk back shows controlled by some brandy sipping, cigar smoking CEO, that seems to appease the masses in their sheep minded view. its photos of babies, photos of dogs wearing sunglasses and hats, or talking about so called celebrities that people want to try and live their lives around.
I`m doing well thanks for asking Suzy, I too feel your pain, not only in empathy of injury, but by also not being able to be a tyrant on the roads. (I`m not saying your a tyrant) Good things come to those that wait.

Re: bored, and stuck in a room!!
There was a Batman joke years ago.
Robin was climbing the Bat Rope with Batman following close behind.
Robin asked a question which I seem to have forgotten.
Batman's answer was "Cock Robin".
