HELP - seat stuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have done something silly - when i was putting the seat back on today after locking the helmet on, i was not paying attention and i have put it on with the tongue on the bottom of the seat on top of the "U" shaped thing at the front, that it is supposed to go into. so now the lock wont turn and i cant get the seat off or my helmet off. fortunately i was able to borrow a helmet [my spare isnt big enough for my head]. has anyone else done this thicko trick and if so how did you open the seat?

If you push down "real" hard on the seat at the back and then try turning the key this should do it. Also try hitting it hrd ( the top of the seat over the lock) with the palm of your hand whilst turning the key at the same time.

indeed -and its something to bear in mind - if you do it a long way from home then you'd be in strife

For anyone that has this problem,if you lever up the back of the seat enough to get an idea of the position of the catch and the cable that goes to the lock, you can the push a long pokey thing under the seat from the right to release the catch.

RE: HELP Seat stuck!
I did that just after I got it. Thought I was going to break the seat. I took a deep breath, waited a while to calm down, and then with my hand just at the start of the pillion seat, pushed down hard and back toward the tail light. And then breathed a big sigh of relief!

A good reason to buy one of those $20 helmet lock combo thingies - it negates the need to take the seat off.
