Since yesterdays off topic hijacking of re-cycled's ride thread, Gus and I have been challenging each other via PM to post our best nature photo.

I'm sure he wont mind if anyone else joins in. There's some good snappers amongst us.
No prizes. Just share your best work.

Rules;
I think we'll limit it to one pic each per day
Anything to do with nature.
No photoshopping except for basic adjustments.
If you're a professional you should declare it in the post.
Max 1000 pixels wide.
Description optional.

This morning at the Central Coast Grammar school.

look out fly ... these creatures are fantastic and had very little fear of humans, this one took a fly off my feet after stalking it and pounced from 12 inches away.

Nice sharp focus on the eye Baz. I would like to see a little more of the body in focus though. Also try and get all of the creature in the shot, ie, his tail. Good stuff.

I dropped my camera the other day. Fell off the bike. Broke the LCD screen. So all mt shooting is now through the view finder. The last 2 photos i posted here have been shot that way. That was the way we used to do it before digital.

I am " Old School " Ross. I have evolved into the digital age but still compose every shot through the view finder. The LCD is great for seeing what you captured.

depending on the subject as in this case you would be better off with the smaller one or photo shop it first IMO. nice shot though.

I think we said a max of 1000px so anything up to that is fine.
Most of mine have been 800 wide
