speedo out by 12 %
If your speedo is like mine and is out by about 12% fast then a 19 tooth front sprocket will make it read about 2 % fast at 100 ks instead of the 12 % too fast
.
And it still pulls like a train

But at $ 109 US plus freight for the Healtech It kind of makes the larger 19 tooth front sprocket option a bit cheaper don't you think ?

Agreed, if your content never to swap and change, and are happy with the out come of the said sprocket, then its the choice to go for I guess.
But once you`ve got it, you can adapt it to any bike, apart from buying the appropriate harness to suit what ever bike.
So, I think they`re good things, and worth their money. Plus, they sell them in Australia

My ODO is pretty much spot on with everything Standard, my speedo is about 8-9% out at 100, I just use a GPS for speed and keep the odometer accuratebikemad wrote:If your speedo is like mine and is out by about 12% fast then a 19 tooth front sprocket will make it read about 2 % fast at 100 ks instead of the 12 % too fast

Re: speedo out by 12 %
Standard gearing and tyres will put you 7 or 8% out. 12% sounds like a gearing change.

So....your bike was/is actually doing 88km/h, at an indicated 100km/h?

From memory , mine was about 7 to 8 % out by your GPS also when we checked ................12% does seem a lot , even for Suzuki .Chook wrote:My ODO is pretty much spot on with everything Standard, my speedo is about 8-9% out at 100, I just use a GPS for speed and keep the odometer accuratebikemad wrote:If your speedo is like mine and is out by about 12% fast then a 19 tooth front sprocket will make it read about 2 % fast at 100 ks instead of the 12 % too fast

Be good now or else santa won't come to you !
well I guess it's a % thing ? the faster you go the more it's out of whack ? as a reference all I can say is 112ks on the Bandits speedo the GPS said 100ks and a 19 tooth front sprocket it now says 102 when the GPS says 100ks and yes it does make a difference to the distance odometer which now reads slightly less for the distance travelled so it's probably incorrect now ?
For me the thought that the Bandit may have a slightly less top end speed due to taller gearing means nothing to me - lets face it Guys and Gals our road law enforcement officers are out there working very hard for the Government and in serious numbers waiting and watching with the latest technology at hand that is very hard to avoid - to show us the error of our ways in the form of $ out of our pockets and you don't have to be a very bad citizen to get caught now a days can anyone put up a post if they haven't been caught in the last couple of years and I will make sure they get their medal

Re: speedo out by 12 %
I'm a bit surprised about how much difference changing to the 19 tooth front sprocket made. If we look at it mathematically, 18/43 = 0.4186. 19/43 = 0.4419, that's a change of 5.5% which is what I'd have expected to be reflected in the change of speedo reading. Unless it isn't a 43 tooth rear sprocket?
