That would make the 1200 and 1250 close enough to the same top speed then.yes?

Gus, if i'm wrong here,,well I'll just be wrong, but you keep on posting stuff that seems to be intentionally trying to get an argument started. I'm not sure if you are aware but they have a name for that on the internet.

I'ts probably just me and I am not trying to make a personal attack here, but I think you did say when you first arrived here that you had been kicked off other sites or one other site. I am not saying this will happen here. And it's got nothing to do with me anyway. Just my observation that's all.

I could be wrong. Question

Inciting argument or debate? Good question for which is in the eye of the reader (interpreter). I’ll take it as “stimulating” discussion and feedback. Not sure what my FA would do, but I’m very happy with the run in and how it now performs. As I understand the FA was targeted at my demographic, top speed is irrelevant; it’s the punt off the line and in between where it happens. IMO, thoughts of others?

IMO who cares. Both will loose you license for a very very long time and a possible rooting from some dude called bubba.

But for the sake of the discussion

Technically when talking gearing etc it will be 6th gear
In reality it might be 5th depending on how heavy or big you are, fairing, screen etc etc and if the bike can push itself thru the air

as I won't be taking it to the track, my 1250SA has more power than I'll ever use - it's use for me is comfort & in the new year, distance.

that said, my zx6r proved to have too much power for my experience at Eastern Creek at the weekend. doh! Evil or Very Mad

Sorry if I've upset you Saithan ,or anybody else. This was never my intention. The reason i asked this question (speed )was that I've
owned both the 1200 and 1250 and was trying to compare them.I know the 1250 has more midrange but never having the 1250 flat out
i thought i'd ask someone who had .I certainly dont see the quickest bike the winner.Who cares, i bought the bandit for midrange so top
speed is unimportant to me , just curious how they had changed the motor. As for the K&N debate ,i can only call it as i see it ,im sure
you dont want me to say ,yeah its great when that's not how i found it.
Having looked back on my last few post i can understand how you may think this.It does read a bit confrontational ,it was never meant to
be that way.I've never been kicked of a forum because i've never been on one before .Maybe thats the problem. (still finding my way )
Thanks for drawing my attention to it ,i'll pay more attention in the future .Certainly don't mind you saying something .All's good.

I wear the kicked off forums badge with honour. Dunno why………………. Wink

Keep posting Gus.

We're all reasonably mature here. All blokes too I think which is just how the site has gone. I'm sure its not intentional.
It's like a bunch of blokes around a camp fire there is always a pissing contest and always someone pissing someone off a little. On a different day it will be someone else getting annoyed. As far as I know no one here has run off with someone's else's missus so lets all take a chill pill. Pull up a stump and crack one of your favourite drinks. In Cameron's case that’s a milkshake. Oh BTW back to the original question. I have seen higher speed in 5th than 6th.
Stock the B1250 has the same output as the 1200 and carries the same weight so in 5th they will be the same.
Where the 1200 may get in front is extra HP is cheaper so a 1200 with $1000 spent on it is probably faster than a B1250 for the same money.
I believe both have gone through radar traps in testing at 240km/h. My Garmin 12XL GPS tops out at 220km/h and that was quick enough for me on a semi naked.

gus, no offence taken nor intended. we are all different personalities, that's what makes the world so special, nothing is the same. you either accept each for thier own and continue on the path or get a little worked up and don't.
i'm pretty confident the crew we have here now are in the former garage and those that are in the latter have moved to another place. that's what happens.

Everyone has a different opinion and a different way of expressing said opinion that may come across to some as a bit hows your farther, but I'm sure if you upset someone, they will say so and you will deal with it, they will deal with it and we will all move on together as growed ups do.

You can pay little attention to what the Bandit speedo reads if it's anything like mine. I've installed a Healtech speedo healer to correct it at ~110 kmph but I haven't tested it at 200+ !!! Might need more than bluetack to fix it to the crossbar. Rolling Eyes

Any idea how far the speedo is out. When i'm sitting on 120 and a radar comes the other way i always think this is trouble. However
at that speed seems to be o.k

120 "feels " like 110 would that be about right .?

In the early days I cable tied my faithful GPS to the bars for exactly that reason. Results were that across the range the speedo was optomistic by 7km/h. That was with new original tyres on and stock gearing. Garmin suggest an error of +/- 1% at sea level for the 12XL. I'm at 40 feet so close enough.

My GPS suggested the speedo was reading 5.1% high at 110 kmph. I set the Healtech at -4.5% to leave a small margin. So far so good. Very Happy

With the original tyres my speedo was out by 8kmh at 110. It read 118kmh when I was really doing 110. I have just bought a Speedo Tuner from Rated R Parts in Perth but am yet to fit it so I'll let you know how that goes.

i've got my speedo healer set to 8.2 with standard gearing at a BT023 on the back. that setting gave it a poofteenth slower than what the GPS said.
funny thing is people still overtake my arse all the time.

No sorry have no idea. Just thought I'd make it clear that I tested it when my bike was fairly new.

Gee 8kls is a lot ,no wonder everyone is over taking me on the freeway.
Does it stay at 8 or as your speed increases so does the error. For example if you double your speed does error double or still 8kls

Oooh I'm not sure about that but I'd say it would be a progressive thing(the faster you go the more out of wack it'll be) so at 60 not as much.
