Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
First topic message reminder :
Who's planning on doing the WSBK's in February, and who is interested in getting a house on the island?
There are plenty of options but we'd need to know who wants to join in to get a idea of what size place we'd need?
Going
Hammy + Mate
Ewok & Bev

reddog and Mrs reddog

I'll keep it in mind. My son is definitely good at retrieving beers from the fridge cracking the top of the stubby is pretty tough for him though
After our Japan trip we'll make the decision on whether we can make it.

Perfect, that'll give us a Butler as well as a Maid (your wife), all we'll have to worry about is cooking the BBQ because that's Men's workreddog wrote:I'll keep it in mind. My son is definitely good at retrieving beers from the fridge cracking the top of the stubby is pretty tough for him though

PHILLIP ISLAND’S 2016 WORLD SUPERBIKES SLATED FOR FEBRUARY 26-28*
Australia will once again launch the Superbike World Championship, with the opening round for 2016 awarded to Victoria’s Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit and slated for next February 26-28, 2016*.
The 2016 event is set to be another Phillip Island scorcher, with the Kawasaki duo of Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes set to be on updated ZX-10Rs, Ducati now back to the peak of its powers with tough-as-nails Briton Chaz Davies, Leon Haslam back on an Aprilia, and Honda powering former world champion Sylvain Guintoli and up and coming Dutchman, Michael van der Mark.
Throw in riders like Alex Lowes, Jordi Torres and a fully fit Davide Giugliano, and it’s a recipe for another island speed spectacular.
Backing world superbike will be the world supersport boys kicking off their 2016 campaigns plus Australia’s leading road racing classes.
Phillip Island is revamping their campground to include powered sites and the new layout means Go Karts will operate all world superbike weekend for some extra fun.
There’s plenty of high-horsepower plans afoot, so plan now for a summer weekend away with mates next February at the supers - all at a totally affordable price.
Tickets go on sale early September. For further information go to www.worldsbk.com.au
*Subject to FIM Ratification
A couple of sites now are posting the same dates. I think we can safely assume these are the right dates. That'll make the Grampians 4-5-6 March

Looks pretty flash $1305 for the four nights + linen.
Get enough people and it would work out.
If you 2 are definitely coming that makes 6 so far and works out at $217.5 +Linen each, not bad at all.

Flights booked we are in. How should we go about this? Would you want us to book this accommodation or do one of you guys want to do it and we deposit into your account ?

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
What I'd like to do is see if there is anyone else interested, but i think this has been up for awhile now and it looks like its just the 6 of us.
I guess if we go with this place and there are a couple of late comers we could easily adjust the share.
Happy to book it, but have to see what everyone else thinks first.

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
It looks good, and the only possible downside is that it's not in the heart of Cowes, so no walking to the shops/pub. But I've stayed at Smiths Beach and Rhyl before which are no where near Cowes and you just have to be organised with shopping. And organised with beers/drinks, since no ducking back for top ups if you find yourself short. But you just have to be disciplined and realistic and make sure you have what you really need.
The lockable double garage is a bonus. The BBQ is surely there to be used. The spa, meh!
I note no linen or towels. Maybe they can get us some linen at extra cost.
Did they want a bond?
Bedrooms should be allocated to the definite starters (the current 6). Here's a suggestion:
Master Bedroom: Queen bed, one porta cot with walk-in robe and ensuite. (RD & missus)
Bedroom 2: Queen bed (whoever makes the booking, bond and organises the linen)
Bedroom 3: 1 Bunk bed = 2 single beds (one of remaining 3)
Bedroom 4: Two single beds (2 and 3 of the remaining 3)
The upper bunk bed in Room 3 is a first reserve for any additional, ie #7 (at equal share).
The living area has a fold out divan bed (double) - this can be used by anyone else who joins later but they pay their share. As far as I'm concerned, NO-ONE opts in later thinking they'll get a freebie - pay your share or f off, sorry but that's just me.
RD - will you and the missus be hiring a car?

Linen can be provided at extra cost, in the small print.
And my sentiments exactly no freeloaders. Later comers will cause a recalculation of the share so everyone pays the same.
If you guys are happy with this I'm happy make further enquiries (bond, deposit, linen charge etc)

btw again... anyone wish to lend us a bike? or tell us where to hire one? save the horrible corolla... just have to see if they'll ride it to the air port and see if some one will shadow us out of the city as I am a country boy.
