Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
First topic message reminder :
Who's planning on doing the WSBK's in February, and who is interested in getting a house on the island?
There are plenty of options but we'd need to know who wants to join in to get a idea of what size place we'd need?
Going
Hammy + Mate
Ewok & Bev
madmax
Chook
reddog and Mrs reddog
Barry & Axle

A bit surprising that can happen being blown into the wharf , considering the pounding it gets in the rough seas during its trips back & forth .....................sorry Barry ......... I don't mean to worry you mate , you had better not read that first bit ( I'm sure the bandaids will help )

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
Actually that photo (less the bandaids) is what the bow is suppose to look like when opened for loading the lower decks - it just looks quite weird.
The damage from the freak wind storm was to the ramp from the sky-bridge that gets laided on the upper loading area. AFAIK they are still repairing/replacing this ramp so all loading is being done from the lower entrance. It might even be back to normal by the time I'm ready to sail.

That's a lot more comforting then ....................certainly looked weird from that anglebarry_mcki wrote:Actually that photo (less the bandaids) is what the bow is suppose to look like when opened for loading the lower decks - it just looks quite weird.

Better take your arc welder with ya Barry. Just to be on the safe side. Those ice bergs pop up in the strangest places.

Seems like they left it pretty late to organise getting the marshals

I saw that on their site last year, I thought about it.......for about 20 seconds, like mm said "Bugger that you'd have to work all day."paul wrote:Seems like they left it pretty late to organise getting the marshals
Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
So even after working all day at the track, you would have got me and mm in for free, despite what anyone else says, you are a top bloke barrybarry_mcki wrote:That's okay cuz two of ya mates get in for free.....
Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
From the WSBK website (note Aussie Josh Hook, racing for Grillini on a ZX-10):
The Provisional Permanent Entry List for the 2016 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship has been released, with racing set to get underway in less than a month in Phillip Island.
A total of 24 riders will compete in the top class of the Championship this season, with reigning Champion Jonathan Rea looking to defend his title and his number 1 plate on his new Kawasaki ZX-10R.
The return of Yamaha with the all-new Suzuka-conquering YZF R1 promises to take the fight to Kawasaki and Ducati, and BMW field two customer teams with Althea and Milwaukee, the latter of which fields recently crowned British Superbike champion Josh Brookes as they move together into a new era on the world stage. MotoGP™ Legend and 2006 World Champion Nicky Hayden lines up on the WorldSBK grid for the first time; the American’s bid to win both crowns set to get underway in 2016, and Grand Prix winners Karel Abraham and Alex de Angelis both follow the Kentucky rider in the switch from their sister paddock to the WorldSBK stage.

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
2 weeks today until we get to PI, work's starting to drag on (and feel like it's getting in the way), oh well, 6 more working days and 10 days until I leave, it seemed like a eternity when we first talked about it.
