Not a F-35, one engine too many...looks like a F-22.

You were at the back of our garage last week!?2wheelsagain wrote:Re-Cycled wrote:Excellent and great timing I just noticed this as I was putting my bike away.

The best I can come up with is "African Iris" of course with common names they can vary from place to place. Seems to be Dietes iridioides.

I really wish I had my good camera when I took this. It doesn`t do it justice by any means!!
I`ve just come back from doing a stint out Central West Queensland, and whilst driving to the job, at about 200k`s due south Emerald, our usual old friend that meets us every day, after charring the other side of the world, and has come back to us again, started putting on a performance I`d never seen before. It literally, looked like a rainbow appearing before my eyes, which only lasted 5mins at most. I didn`t get the money shot anyway, as I was driving, then had to pull over and try and find my simple camera, to try and capture anything at all, before in an instant, the whole sky changed to pale blue.
The perfect photo, would, as I saw, start from a deep red, right through the colour spectrum, with a black as night, back drop, with a quarter moon, and star hi-light, lasted maybe a minute, then fadded to what I took.
You really have to have your camera around your neck at all times.

It's still a nice shot mate.
Can't count the number of times I've missed the money shot but at least we get to see something spectacular. Who needs proof?

Yeah, this is true. The mental picture was taken, and now on grey matter file.
There`s nothing like witnessing something, in real time.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
Yes Paul, that was from our lounge room window.
Approx 40 locals hang out on the reserve opposite.
We put an old foxtel dish in the garden as a bowl for them and they also don't mind using the bird baths either. Have had 20 plus on the front lawn a few times.
Been here 18 months and have only mown the front twice. Unfortunately they aren't very good at doing the edges so once a month I do them .
