Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
55mm lens on the camera. I was spewing I did not have the zoom with me. There where 4 of them. Closer I got some flew off. Then the last one flew right at me.2wheelsagain wrote:Right o how did you get that close to a Nankeen Kestrel?

There were two of them. They just decided to find a tree elsewhere. Big swoop down and off they took.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
What happened to the start of this thread? I thought I'd seen a few posts where various DSLR's were discussed. My better half is interested in purchasing a DSLR and a "beginners" all-rounder lens/lenses. The point n shoot has served us well, but when you see the quality of shots over various distances......Wow!
....And err.... I may have to borrow it from time to time for car/bike shows!!
So, any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I've passed on your facebook link Chris.
Thanks in advance,
sb1250

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
My wife was in the same boat sb, so I bought a camera mag that had a comparison of a whole range of contemporary models. Bev ended up buying a Nikon 3200 as a result with twin lenses. I bought her a beginners guide to digital photography for Xmas. The Nikon 3100 was also on sale recently at a very cheap price.

Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
There are some excellent review sites on the internet, you can even download sample photos from the camera at full resolution.
Re: Misc Nature Photo's Thread
Well, did a bit of surfing the ol net and ended up with the same as you Ewok. JBHIFI had the 3200 on sale. The better half is wrapped! We'll add other lenses once she gets comfortable. I was allowed to use it for a whole 15mins!!
Maybe I'll get to post some worthy pics!
Thanks lads.
