OK, excuse my lack of knowledge of the insect world but, which end is the front?

Also, if by chance it is a female, I don't think it is pregnant.

Furthermore, I thought all insects had six legs and all spiders had eight (or is that the other way around?)

it's upside down at the moment, the open bits are like its hands and the head is covered by it's arms. usually able to regrow legs, may have been snacked upon by our feathered friends.

"Joey" one of our locals crashed in the back yard for most of yesterday and today. Kingy was taken at a friend's place a few days ago.
