Does size matter?

Standard pipe is 590 long, after market IE Beowulf at 450 and they do a short version 380.
The question is does shorter mean louder? or is it just a question of looks? or is there a performance issue?

I read up abit about it a year ago, if its true or not i dont know.
long makes more torque & short makes more power.

This is true of un-cross linked header pipes not mufflers. A shorter muffler is generally louder than a longer one.

Makes sense that they are a little louder but by how much??????

i've seen them on the suzuki's.....they look more sporty. the short ones that is....
