I like the price on these. I like how they sound after watching Bhuffo's video. That rubber strap worries me. What could you use instead I wonder?

i used a tie down strap ,the $5 type (for 2) with a buckle on the end .Its the right width and doesn't melt .And you can used the shortened strap .
I lost the exhaust clamp in qld while traveling to Tasi .Wrapped the exhaust in a strap till i got to Vico . No problems .
I'm thinking these exhausts (small) may get hot so thats what i'll be using .

Saw these ones on the Danmoto site the other night and wondered how they would sound?? (bought the o2 sensor chip mod - cheap at $13 posted!)...

As for the heat - my carbon GP style doesn't hold the heat at all - although the stainless pipes have discoloured..

I had to replace the rubber strap in mine too after about 18 months.. Just bought a length of thin rubber from 'Clark Rubber' and glued it in place onto the stainless strap with a couple of spots of CA glue (super glue).. No problems...

I'm thinking about getting a cone one ,covering it in carbon for that "stubby GP look ".

Found this Youtube vid of the 'cone' shaped muffler on a Busa.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObEdugbqW44

I have one of these and used it for a time but took it out as I like the sound better without it.. not much louder without, just 'growlier'.. Smile

Mine turned up this arvo .(conical shape ) Weight 1 kg .Threw the rubber strap straight in the bin .Link pipe a very tight fit but it did fit ,just .Will need the cover to hide the
ugly and large join .Link pipe certainly not marine grade stainless but we new that .
Pipe small at 300 mm ,finished in brushed stainless, looks neat enough .Perforated inner
tube with packing on the outside (or should that be inside ).Hanger strap looks cheap
and nasty so i'll make my own .Fit to my home made hanger close to perfect (got lucky )
Sound ,surprisingly good .I was expecting loud with crap noise .Instead i got a pleasant
deep sound .The packing helps i think .The look suits my bike (street fighter ) but may
look out of place with a Givi set up or the FA Bandit .
Pics tomorrow .So far well pleased .

Looks good mate. You would not have had to make a bracket for the centre stand hey?

The weather cleared today after 5 days of crap .Time to road-test new pipe .Noise on start up ,ohh thats nice .3rd gear about 90 kph OMG
so LOUD .At 120 in 5th fine but the rest of the time in an inclosed area too loud for me .
Which leads to the next question.
Go to "Baffling question "in mechanical .

My baffle turned up today .To my my surprise it was recommended to fit in the intake of the exhaust .
Danmoto exhaust - Page 2 IMG_4021

Test ride ,dam ,still too loud .Better, but annoying after 60kls .
Put in baffle in the end of the can (exit) and tried again .Better, but ,yes, loud.

Went down and brought these .Cut one (1) in half and pushed into can , not too tight .
Danmoto exhaust - Page 2 IMG_4030

Test ride ,perfect .
I considered fitting it with no hanger bracket but in the end thought i was pushing my luck .Looked good though.

This is strange . While testing the amount of pot scrubber (scruubbbbber ,funny word , Razz ) to put in the exhaust, i figured the exhaust gas's would
push it towards the baffle in the end of the can, forever holding it in place .After running, i removed the can to check it .GONE.
No where to be seen ,gone .WTF
Started bike, pot scrubber comes flying out of the CAT . Razz WTF.
Repeat -Same result -Repeat -Same result .The flying scrubber .

Back pressure at work i guess .It was actually pushing the gauze BACKWARDS towards the headers .This stuff was NOT loose in the can .
I ended up having to put a bit of chicken wire behind it to hold it in the BACK of the can .Amazing.

Now i could be disgusting and talk about a TURD being propelled backwards after a small FART ..

I'm in need of medication this morning i think , Razz .
