Looks good mate. You would not have had to make a bracket for the centre stand hey?

The weather cleared today after 5 days of crap .Time to road-test new pipe .Noise on start up ,ohh thats nice .3rd gear about 90 kph OMG
so LOUD .At 120 in 5th fine but the rest of the time in an inclosed area too loud for me .
Which leads to the next question.
Go to "Baffling question "in mechanical .

My baffle turned up today .To my my surprise it was recommended to fit in the intake of the exhaust .
Danmoto exhaust - Page 2 IMG_4021

Test ride ,dam ,still too loud .Better, but annoying after 60kls .
Put in baffle in the end of the can (exit) and tried again .Better, but ,yes, loud.

Went down and brought these .Cut one (1) in half and pushed into can , not too tight .
Danmoto exhaust - Page 2 IMG_4030

Test ride ,perfect .
I considered fitting it with no hanger bracket but in the end thought i was pushing my luck .Looked good though.

This is strange . While testing the amount of pot scrubber (scruubbbbber ,funny word , Razz ) to put in the exhaust, i figured the exhaust gas's would
push it towards the baffle in the end of the can, forever holding it in place .After running, i removed the can to check it .GONE.
No where to be seen ,gone .WTF
Started bike, pot scrubber comes flying out of the CAT . Razz WTF.
Repeat -Same result -Repeat -Same result .The flying scrubber .

Back pressure at work i guess .It was actually pushing the gauze BACKWARDS towards the headers .This stuff was NOT loose in the can .
I ended up having to put a bit of chicken wire behind it to hold it in the BACK of the can .Amazing.

Now i could be disgusting and talk about a TURD being propelled backwards after a small FART ..

I'm in need of medication this morning i think , Razz .

Or ,and i like this one .A sleave over the baffle and smaller holes in it .They are rather large .Start small and work up .

VHT flat black heat paint rattle can . Rub over and it goes to satin black .No undercoat, if you change your mind it comes off with steel wool .
Sprayed on the bike 5 min job .Slightly warm exhaust before spraying and run bike after .Undercoat will make it aLOT tougher though if heal marks are a problem .Or just under coat link pipe ,it can still be removed .

I think its about time i scored the Danmoto exhaust after living and riding with it over the last 3 weeks .Scores will be out of 10 .

Quality -5 .Hanger bracket was bad as was fit to headers .
Sound without baffle ---3 . So ,so loud
Sound with baffle ------4 holes in baffle too big .
Performance -----4 worse than stock .
Weight saving---10 Huge difference
Cost ----------10 cheap .
Easy of quietening down .------8- smaller holes needed (see above )

Over all, 7 out of 10, Cheap but not great .

Since the pipe is so short,300mm (and link pipe ) the noise is right beside your ear and not out the back .
I cut a piece of stainless pipe (yabby pump ) and had one end expanded .$0 muffler shop .Attached to link pipe making it longer .

This is how to make the oval danmoto exhaust usable with BETTER power.(maybe other danmoto shapes )

Without baffle power Lower than standard and fn LOUD and i mean LOUD .60 kls and i was getting angry .
With danmoto baffle fitted as they say (intake ) bike is a little better on power and LOUD and i mean LOUD .80 kls getting annoyed
The Fix .
Take the baffle and put a sleave (tube )over all those silly LARGE holes and pop rivet so it wont move .I used a piece of alloy tube 35mm o]d. ,cut
a slot in it so it would expand and slid it over to block all holes (with a hammer )
Now you have a baffle which is TOTALLY BLOCKED ,stay with me . Razz
Drill out the the end so you can see straight though it and file o (round ) .Does not have to be perfect you dont see it .Tough metal .
Fit the baffle in the EXIT repeat EXIT .Pop rivet into place . You now have a copy of an Akraprovic baffle system and it works a treat .
BETTER POWER , a note that doesn't sound like a hole in a car muffler . Unlimited kls ride ability .

The exhaust exit is still in line with you ear (noise) so i extended the link pipe (extra piece ) buy about 300 mm .
At last i'm happy .Sounds a lot of work but 5-10mins if you have a piece of 35 mm 0\d tube in the shed .
Link pipe extension is a fine tune and depends on your noise level acceptance .
