A Bandit Forum Get Together - Stage 1

First topic message reminder :

Folks,
I notice that it is about 2,000 - 2,100 kms from Adelaide to Brisbane (or Brisbane to Adelaide - take your pick). So what you might ask? Well, it offers an opportunity for many of us forum members to meet up somewhere roughly in the middle (don't ask me exactly where - I'm making this up as I go) - but it would have to be roughly half way. I know any kind of ride like this wouldn't suit the sandgropers, NT, NZ, USA, Italy, Greece, Sweden, etc members but that's just a fact of life with a country the size of Europe. I'm not talking about this year but what if we decided to have a big Bandit forum get together somewhere in the Spring/Summer of 2013? That should give enough advance notice for the wheels to be put in motion, surely. I'm quite happy to organise it.

Details are:
Date: 1 - 3 November 2013 (ie Friday nigtht & Saturday night for those wanting a two night stay)
Place: Cowra
Accommodation options: Option 1 - The Imperial Hotel (02 634102588) (prices start at $65 for a single room but are as low as $115 for an ensuite room with 1 dbl and 2 sgl beds). There are also ensuite rooms for two at $100 per room (1 dble, 1 sgl). Option 2 the Sovereign Inn (02 6342 1055) (price is $69 per person twin share or $127 for a single). It is directly opposite the Imperial across Kendal St - both look good. Book individually. Special group price will apply to all, irrespective of individual bookings.
Plans: Individuals organise their own rides to and from (with other members or solo, as preferred). Groups meet up at accommodation. Day trip to Bathurst for those interested on Saturday for a few laps of the circuit. Counter lunch in Bathurst. Pub meal in Cowra Sat night. Departure Sunday AM.

One week to go Guys!!! In the immortal words of Big Kev, " I'M EXCITED ". Caps will be ready this arvo so I'll go and pick them up. They look fantastic, he's done a great job. They're just how I designed them so I can only hope you like the design. The TL will be coming as I don't want to put anymore Kms on the Bandito as one of my best mates is going to buy it ( apparently ), so we might have a new member soon. Ps Im sorry but Im not going anywhere even if I don't have a bandit, I love this site. Especially once we've all got together and had a few beers ( or squashes Ewok ).

John and I are leaving on wednesday . He has to take his truck and escavator over to the mainland for services so we decided we might as well head off then and spend another night out on the road somewhere.

He'll be fine.  They breed em tough up here in Qld. Gives him an excuse when he can't keep up with the mighty Bandit though.  . We've been teaseing each other over whos bike will need oil, be slow, will overheat and so on.  Friendly banter.  Hope we don't put the mocker on us.

Yep can't wait, haven't been one a real long ride since Tassie in 2011.

Mike and I are leaving on Thursday. Taking the shortest route we can while avoiding the Hume as much as possible. Stopping Thursday night probably somewhere around Albury-Wodonga ready for a leisurely cruise into Cowra sometime Friday afternoon.

Picked up the caps this arvo. $320 for 16 so they're exactly $20 each. A bargin when you see 'em they're unreal.
Took the new beast for a spin today, magnificent!! Cant wait to ride it to Cowra. Initionally it felt dreadful, like a clown on a minature bike at the circus, but after an hour it was as though nothing had changed.

I'm not really worried. They're forecasting a storm on Tuesday then possibly a couple of showers on Wednesday. We will be passing through Tamworth on Thursday on our way to a stop over in Coonabarabran.
