Normal for you guys maybe. The only way I can achieve that sort of range is by riding long boring straight stretches of roads, something I'm not in the habit of doing.

Re:Fuel Challenge
I think i`ve got the nerd award.
filled up at hazo yesterday, zeroed the trip, rode down m4 to rydalmere and back home.143.7 ks.1 bar
98 octane by the way.will not use anything else.gave it some curry up woodford bends.some dickhead in a ve ute wanted some fun by tailgating.that didn`t last long
ps .what can i do to fix the horrible handling into corners?coming out is a breeze but going in is very scary
have changed settings on top of forks and tyre pressure but that`s all that`s available.
anyone got a solution?or maybe i am just used to the old cafe racers of the 90ties.
ride safe gentlemen

88.3 was my first go. Just got a 91.7. I reckon thats about it for me as far as "commuting" consumption. Maybe a trip somewhere over the xmas break might see some better results.

Re: Fuel challenge ....
I had the baffle in mine. I took it out this time and filled the tank again till the bubbles stopped. This time, same speed same route, 83.5 when the first block went.

Re: Fuel challenge ....
Ok..... well best I've done taking it easy and with a fair bit of down hill involved (I live in the mountains) is 117km... Worst with a reasonably heavy hand was low to mid 80's (don't remember exactly now..) I fill it up on the centre stand and squeeze every drop in I can get...! Has to be a level driveway too at the garage pump..

Re: Fuel challenge ....
Have to try it... I know that the pump clicks 'off' when the fuel reaches the bottom of the tank filler pipe, but that's about 1" (or 3cm to the metric minded) below the actual inside skin of the top of the tank.. I guess others do it too; takes a little longer to fill as the fuel has to syphon up around the filler...

I know I sound like a broken record but things that you can do that may improve economy on your bike. (some of these you may have already done)
Make sure your brakes are not dragging (common on the rear due to the design of the caliper.)
How do you do that? Mine definitely drag. When on centre stand, wheel does not spin freely.
Thanks
PS, I get 55-70 km depending on riding style.
Overall 5.5-6.5L per 100.
Regular unleaded, yoshi, K&N air, power commander.

Ok - I've got an update.....
I left Katoomba 3 days ago and travelled to Caves Beach (nr Swansea NSW) - so the first 45km or so was downhill, then freeway travel until Pennant Hills and stop/start heavy traffic until the F3..... had my GF on board, ventura bag filled to brim. A tank bag, and oxford panniers - so lots of weight... anyway the first bar finally went at 121k's... i tend to think that each bar is generally worth about 80 km, it seems though that the further you travel the less each bar gives you....
We're now at Coonabarabran for a quiet NYE....

Re: Fuel challenge ....
I’ll excuse myself from this task because I was on the “other bike” yesterday
I knocked up almost 600km meeting up with Ewok and got drenched doing it
According to the Android app Fuel Log I averaged 5.53lt/100km.
Most of this was at an indicated $120 and some $............................. (I’m not even going to post that video )
The other bike has a real fuel gauge not just a bar graph that has a guess
So it looks like I’m getting B1250 economy

Re: Fuel challenge ....
I did 81.8kms today before the first bar disappeared. Out of Cooma with a full tank heading back to Canberra. Doing 100+ all the way so not trying to be "nerdy". Fuel was Shell 98 (which I have never used before).

Re: Fuel challenge ....
They 're good distances when trying to stretch it.
I average about 55kms to first bar, 130kms to 2nd bar, 190kms to 3rd bar, 270kms to 4th bar and i pushed it to 340kms and got to the servo with around 500ml left in there. I filled up on side stand and my run included a good run through National Parks, Mountain Parks, Freeways, country roads - a good selection.
It's handy to know the distances able to reach.
I run Shell V-Power and it seems to like it.

Re: Fuel challenge ....
Last Friday I went on a leisurely day ride with some friends from Sydney to the Southern Highlands and back
Topped up the tank at Mittagong...then travelled back roads over to Kangaloon, Robertson, down to Kangaroo valley, Berry, Jamberoo, Mt. Ousley and back up the F6 to Sydney.
It was the best consumption I've seen so far.....using speedohealer and GPS calibration, 102 to 1st Bar, ...173 to 2nd Bar, and 235 to 3rd Bar........refilled at 239 klm (actual), ...getting (about) 22.25 klm per litre......

You either weight 9.6kg or that was a huge down hill run. Average speed?
Personally I find the Bandit boring enough than worrying about dinosaurs. I'm happy with 17 - 18km/lt
Re: Fuel challenge ....
hahaha, yes mate.....I'm barely 82kg (wet), and it was mostly a leisurely ride...as I stated...essentially at posted speed limits (between 40 and 110k)etc.,...but heck!, if I were doing 35k commutes in 13 minutes (as you say), I'd be happy with 17 or 18 kpl over a full tank, as well.
