Re: Fuel challenge ....
Fifty klm to one bar left only. I get good milage out of a tank in general, around 300 before topping up. When I did the tank repair, rust, I must have bent the float arm putting the fuel pump assembly back in. That'll be todays job seeing I can't ride anyway.Shot rear tyre and the new ones, PR2's , http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/120-70-17-58W-180-55-17-73W-ZR-Michelin-Pilot-Road-2-Motorcycle-Tyres-/110785409936?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19cb533390 , haven't turned up yet.

At least it is consistent I guess.Kaupy1962 wrote:65.3 today 110kph no wind same as last time.
Have you changed gearing or is your speedo healed (can't remember and haven't read back thru the thread).
I know I sound like a broken record but things that you can do that may improve economy on your bike. (some of these you may have already done)
Replace the fuel filter
Replace the air filter
Replace the spark plugs
Check tyre pressures
Align the rear wheel correctly
Lube and adjust the chain (I found that the chain just hitting the swing arm when the bike is on the Cstand was best)
Go to a bike shop that has a yoshie box (or similar) and get them to zero the ECU back to factory
Make sure there are no air leeks in the inlet side
Then there are the normal tune up things such as TBS, TPS etc, make sure you get a ISC learned value reset done.
Get down behind the screen a bit more at freeway speeds
Make sure your brakes are not dragging (common on the rear due to the design of the caliper.)
Clean any crap off the O2 sensor
Disable the GP sensor (I went from ~6.5/100km to ~5.5/100km over night)
Run a bottle of injector cleaner thru the bike (placibo effect most likely, but you never know)
.
.
.
.
You can also fill the bike up more at the servo (fill it on the Cstand, not the side stand)
Stop wheelieing everywhere
Ride like an old granny
Put up with it and just ride and smile

Re: Fuel challenge ....
59.4 to the first bar on the left. There was some 2 up riding in this first 59.4 and some fast overtaking.

honestly people, just get on and ride,I didn`t buy a bike solely for economy. A VW Polo turbo diesel gets better economy then a bike.

Re: Fuel challenge ....
I think your taking this to seriously .You could go for least kls .
THen again if we are all getting 80 kls at 110 and someone is getting 50 kl it might actually be helpfully .I doubt it though .
I still think i got some sly tricks up my sleeve to try out tomorrow .I'm actually looking forward to some childish fun .

Re: Fuel challenge ....
127.3 on the vee yesterday
That included a few faster take offs from the lights and a few runs to a tiny bit faster than allowed (remember to reset speedo healer top speed recall thingo).
Also included about 30mins of stupidity on a sandy road.
Did I mention that a Veestrom is a big heavy pig that wants to try and plant you face where it shouldn't be when riding on dirt/sand. The old adage of "if in doubt, power out" got used a lot

Fuel challenge ....
Okay, Here it is. Filled up on centre stand (don't normally). Probably could have squeeze another litre in. First block gone at 89.2 kilometres. Windy as hell. Cold
