LED Indicators Done.
First topic message reminder :
Finally completed the indicator change over, from the ugly oldies to the LEDs. Went with the Barracuda Feccias at rear. Flush mounts up front ( packed them out about an extra 6mm as I think they were too flush ). Plus changed the park lights to LED indicators as well so that there is plenty of front light going on. The LED wedges to go in the park light sockets were the hardest to source. Finally found what I was after, four LEDs around the outside and one at the front. Excellent little bulb. LED flasher relay. Am quite happy with the final result.

Bugger. You couldnt swap out the bolts for stainless ones? Or is it some sort of specialist type thingy?
You would have to break the lenses from the backing and then break a few LED globes to drill a hole for the SS bolt to go into.
Mount it to a wedge then mount the wedge ?
Re: LED Indicators Done.
you could also use a threaded collar on the end of your bolt to screw in an extension thread , or if electrics inside the light allows cut a thin rectangular shape into the backing plate then grind the head of a bolt down to fit this hole , leaving a T shape as the bolt head . Put the head of the bolt through the hole & turn it 90 degrees so the edges of the T piece head are behind the long sides of the rectangle & tighten up the bolt.

Or make your wedge, glue it to the back off the light with urethane then glue it to the fairing with urethane.
Urethane wont fail, and it could be removed later but it wouldn't be easy

Re: LED Indicators Done.
I have these cheap flush mounts, as can be seen in the pics. I would not run them just by themselves as I think they are not easily seen from the front, especially in daylight hours. Used with LED mirror or even the bar end type indicators I feel they serve a purpose. 1, fill in the hole. 2, give good indicator visibility from the side. I see there are even stick on LED strips that you can put on your mirrors or bark busters. The only problem is hiding the wires. Paul. The backing plate on these flush mounts is also the surface which the LEDs are mounted to. So drilling a hole in it is out of the question. There would be easy ways to bring the indicators out a bit. I put some 6mm firm rubber with a hole drilled in it.

Re: LED Indicators Done.
Oh well, Yes I know it has been done before, but I will give it a try as I really don't use the park lights and would like some indicators on the front section of the bike. If I do change my mind in the future, I may decide to put in led mirrors, but for now I don't want to do any more wiring and I certainly don't want to drill holes in the fairing as I just paid $300 to respray it
I have fitted LED barracuda inidcators to the front and rear. Upgraded the relay to suit. (totally worth the $$) So have also purchased some wedge Yellow LED bulbs to try the indicator in the park area. However I also purchased some white LED wedge bulbs (to match my HID lights now), just incase I decide I don't like it. The original plug is still attached to the wiring for now, so it is a reasonably easy change if I want to go back to white parkers...

Yes, they are wired in up front, but I am waiting for my fairing, so they are hanging down at the moment... that is the Orange flash down on the right, in top photo.
