LED Indicators Done.
Finally completed the indicator change over, from the ugly oldies to the LEDs. Went with the Barracuda Feccias at rear. Flush mounts up front ( packed them out about an extra 6mm as I think they were too flush ). Plus changed the park lights to LED indicators as well so that there is plenty of front light going on. The LED wedges to go in the park light sockets were the hardest to source. Finally found what I was after, four LEDs around the outside and one at the front. Excellent little bulb. LED flasher relay. Am quite happy with the final result.

Nice work Hammy - looks very neat. I especially like the indicators where the parking lights were.
How bright are they during daylight ? Mate of mine has a one piece aftermarket rear led brake light / led indicators on his Blackbird. In darkness or low light they're really bright. In direct sunlight they're useless & so hard to make out I reckon they're dangerous.
Cheers,
Bucky

They are suprisingly quite bright. They would be even better if the reflectors in the park light housings were chrome and not just flat silver. I have checked them out from all angles and am pretty certain that they will stand out. The flush mounts and the Barracudas are VERY bright.

LEDs are definitely the way of the (near) future for Bike lighting - I hope that someone at Suzuki Central monitors this sight and sees how much better the Bandit can look with LEDs - as Gus said: "Looks Professional" - I rate it 10/10 because you extended the front ones out from the bodywork enough to make them obvious, without removing the sense of uninterrupted airflow that I am sure you were after - the originals really do just 'poke' out. Very cool Hammy - just update if any issues arise in use.

Thanks Guys for the kind remarks. I must thank Reardo , who inspired me after seeing his upgrades. Was all done for under $150.

Shame they did not do this with the 1250FA. I looked at the flush mount leds and went for a smoked set for under $10. I got what i paid for they sat too low in the fairing and were not bright enough. And the biggest insult was that the did not fit correctly and after riding for 10 minutes fell out.

Looks great Hammy. I was going to do that but, couldn't find good bright LEDs for the parkers.Hammy wrote:Thanks Guys for the kind remarks. I must thank Reardo , who inspired me after seeing his upgrades. Was all done for under $150.

A Ducati Hypermotard road past me today. The LED blinker/hand guards/mirrors looked good as it past me and real bright.
What do you think they would look like on a Bandit?

Now they're done. Was not 100% happy with the parklight refit so went looking and found these. They fit perfect, like they were made for it. Visibility is about the same as the std mirrors and the light is great from head on even in the daylight. The side flushmounts still flash so I have all angles covered. Parklights back to parklights.

Re: LED Indicators Done.
Did you have to fit a resistor to slow down the blink of the LED indicators?
Re: LED Indicators Done.
Most people get the plug and play no load flasher unit rather than playing with resistors

Please explain. Sorry I have been in the dark woods of a old BMW Airhead with a charging system that a rat in a wheel could have made more electricity.
Re: LED Indicators Done.
I like them ,i'd just think they would look better without the shinny plastic look .The stems are flat black ,personally id like to see that carry through .
You already new i was going to say that though didnt you .
Maybe i should get a stamp made up to save me writing it .

Re: LED Indicators Done.
Thanks Reardo, for the links. The only other colour option Gus, was CF look. Naaa. The more I look at them , the more I like them. The design is very much like the '06 fairing with its pointy angles and nice curves. Yes I have sat and looked at my Bandit for many an hour from many an angle. Sad. The glossy finish kinda goes with the dark shinny tint of my windshield. I only had to drill one hole in the fairing. In the middle of the mirror mount threads, to feed the wire into the fairing. I could , with a little trimming, mount the new stalks onto the original mounting blocks.
