LED Indicators Done.
First topic message reminder :
Finally completed the indicator change over, from the ugly oldies to the LEDs. Went with the Barracuda Feccias at rear. Flush mounts up front ( packed them out about an extra 6mm as I think they were too flush ). Plus changed the park lights to LED indicators as well so that there is plenty of front light going on. The LED wedges to go in the park light sockets were the hardest to source. Finally found what I was after, four LEDs around the outside and one at the front. Excellent little bulb. LED flasher relay. Am quite happy with the final result.

Cool. Might put a set of these on the want list for when I change the indicators over to LED.
Re: LED Indicators Done.
Just bought a set of the LED indicator mirrors off Ebay for USD$36. Cheap enough to try. They are making satin black now - same as the stock mirrors. As a mirror they are fine and the indicators add some visibility. So far I rate them.

Re: LED Indicators Done.
Do these fit into the original mirror placement fitting? I would love a set of these on my bike!
Yes I would like to know where you got the satin black version from.
Edited.. cause how the hell would I connect them tiny little wires to my indicator wires?
I have no idea how to do any form of wiring.
I am in the process of waiting for a full set of barracuda LED to come in, but I ordered some plug and play harness to make it easier.

Your new plug & play is all you need for your new blinkers. If you get mirrors with blinkers, you can use something like a Wire Tap Connectors to piggy back the blinker wire.gringo wrote:Do these fit into the original mirror placement fitting? I would love a set of these on my bike!

Re: LED Indicators Done.
So the wire tap connectors connect 2 of the same wire together?
So both front left blinkers connect both red together then plug into socket? .eg
If that's correct I will have to grab some next time. The lighting is getting expensive. Lol now I want indicator mirrors
I am ordering a proximity alarm also and could imagine those clips will come in a big help.

As I have no idea how to use those items... I would likely balls it up and make more of a mess of it all...

LEDs can only be wires up one way. + to + & - to -. or they don't work. But it dead easy tho. just plug them in and turn them on, if they don't work just swap them around.
Then when your finished that. take your new mirrors/indicators and Tap Wire Connectors (use the video for a eg..) The pretend red wire in video is the wiring on your bike to the new blinkers, Split the Wire Tap and put it over that wire. then put the mirrors/indicators wire in the other side of the Tap.
It's not hard, you just have to get + to + to + and - to - to -

With some filing they do fit. I have done exactly that to mine as the stock mounting bits look crap. I will take a pic and post it up

I'd like to see them on the stock Suzuki mounts. I have them on the ones they came with and they look OK, but the stockers would be better. Closeups would be great

Re: LED Indicators Done.
Here they are, they are no worse than the stock ones, but they sit lower and don't stick out as far, so you see your hands rather than your elbows. Speed test at 200kph for extended periods mean they hang on alright
God knows why this photo won't rotate the right way

I know you would have done that test in a wind tunnel - as anywhere else on the street would be against the law...
Look good though..............more food for thought..........

Re: LED Indicators Done.
It was on a private farmers road that I know. Mine are up the other way from Hammy's. The indicators are bright enough for cagers to see.

I thought they looked different somehow. I think I will probably do the "file" thing as well. Dont like the rubber boots all that much.

The rubber boots etc are crap lookin for sure. Just be careful as you want them to be a tight fit, I must say feeding that wire down the fairing stay was a real pain though as there's not much clearance

Gringo: The bullet bar ends I got because it's a Bandit. Not many people notice them but I have had several people comment on them. You'll normally see them on Harley's. They are Machine ST brand 38 specials
I'll get some pics of the wires for you lot ASAP. You need to pull the inner rubber out from behind the fairing and trim off the tab that holds it in position as this is the hole I used to run the wire through the fairing stay

Re: LED Indicators Done.
I now have a need for a new indicator. El Lobo had a lie down due to my stupidity at not parking it in gear on a slight slope. Small scratches on engine case, bark buster (Gus could cover those for to help there... soon ) and one broken indicator lens and the screw fitting that holds the lens on with went bye bye too. Man this bike is heavy to pick up when it is in a ditch. My oldest daughter was with me and helped lift the bike up.
It is cheaper to get LEDs. I do want to keep the standard Suzi ones at the back. If I fit this plug and go relay can I still use the standard globed rear indicators?

Looks to the left....Looks to the right... shhhhhhh. Don't tell anyone.. yes. As I got off the bike I said to myself turn off the engine and leave it in gear. Then I did the complete opposite.
Cool about the relay. Off to eBay I go.
