Any headers
First topic message reminder :
Hi again guys can anyone tell me where to get the best price on a set of headers, for GSF 1250 I have done a little research and boy do they vary, Arrow headers from Admant Industries Pty Ltd in Australia, quoted me $869 plus postage, why would you want to buy Australian ?? yet good old ebay they were $600 inc postage from Italy, half way around the world for $269 cheaper , found some another type in the UK for $420 but they were wanting $180 postage I queried that and they reduced it to $128 which is still dearer by almost a hundred bucks from spain, emailed good old Dale Walker he has dicked me around for three days emails going back and forth but still no postage charge its probably that high he is to scared to tell me, so if any of you know where and how much I would appreciate it.

The 4-1 sounds good. Can any one with the 4-2-1 upload sound clip?
Bugger the sound mate they are 9Kg lighter. If I had fast internets I'd get the video camera out and do a few seconds of it sitting in the shed

Re: Any headers
What type of Allen key did you use to get the headers off or did you pull the radiator out?reddog wrote:What a very nice meccano set Reardo You will love them
Re: Any headers
I just loosened off the radiator so it was free to move around with the hoses etc.
I found using an Allen key & a set of vice grips on the L end gave me the right amount of leverage to crack the header studs.
They are a bit challenging to work out what goes where, but they do all slip together in an orderly fashion.
Enjoy the journey

you can also get allen keys that are the same as a socket & use them with a 3/8 drive ratchet

Standard Sidchrome metric ones mate. I had the bike apart for the 24K service, so had the radiator out of the way which made it easy.
Make sure you work out which way the bits connect to the head. The recess for the holder thingos shoudl be poiting towards the front wheel as the pipes slide into this

Finally arrived, heaps lighter, better throttle response ,more power, smoother, lovely exhaust note, well worth the money, got mine from the guy in italy $625 landed here, very very happy, and were fairly easy to fit after you worked out what went where, also fitted Pro Taper bars with the Rox risers they dont sweep back so far as the oem's now my wrist's dont get sore, turning into a right little hooligans bike

Nice work Oldandnaked. Those Rox bar risers work well too. You are lucky to have the naked as the bars would most likely foul on the faired bike if you were near full lock
Those pipes are a work of art.. I'love how they come in such a small box and you think surely thats not what I paid X amount of dollars for
Gus: Answer is yes you can. The other answer is don't fall off as they are a brace after all and a 200+kg bike will bend them easily

Short answer, No. If you dont like a brace then go for the " fat bars ". But then you need matching risers.

Re: Any headers
If you go for fat bars those Rox risers can be used on 22 or 27?mm bars once you remove the inner spacers

Remember I said I won a few bucks on the pokies, well being cashed up I just ordered from ebay Itay, they turned up yesterday and with a bit of anger management I worked out how they went together, just got back from a proper ride, and jeez does it go now, ime loving it, cant wait to see what its pumping out on the dyno friday, will post the printout , the bars I just fitted are also great no sore wrists today , its like a different bike amazing how much better you can make some thing with a few hundred bucks, money well spent .
And you can get an earful on youtube https://youtu.be/RS6ZOdd4r5s copy and paste that
