Another SA Bandit...
Hello all! I am another South Australian and the proud owner of a 2008 GSF1250. I upgraded from a 1998 YZF600R about a year ago - and before that a 1991 VFR750. After test riding my Bandit, I knew I could never go back to a 600 again. The bike had under 5000km on the clock when I bought it, and it has been an absolute joy. I find the naked 'standard' style of bike to be the perfect mix between daily commuter and weekend rocket - I am very glad to join the growing group of Bandit converts.
The previous owner had installed a Danmoto slip-on, and unsurprisingly I had some popping on deceleration. After reading advice on this forum I have since pulled out the snorkel and replaced the stock air filter with a K&N item - the popping has got worse, the response is uneven at low throttle settings, but it feels much better at fully open. The contributors to this forum variously advise to disable the PAIR system, cut holes in the airbox or adjust the fuelling with a Power Commander - I still need to consider things a bit more, but it seems that the PC is the way to go.
I am keen to expand my riding skills and explore the abilities of my pride and joy, and living in Adelaide I am blessed with Gorge Rd, Chain of Ponds and Basket Range to do so. South Australians will know what I am talking about. I am also looking forward to exchanging plenty of tips and advice with the other members of this forum and learn as much as I can about the Bandit and how to ride it. Perhaps I will even be able to share a few tips I have learnt along the way!

Re: Another SA Bandit...
Welcome and enjoy the bike.
A few of us say removing the snorkel does nothing and a few more have used k & n and gone back.
A PC and dyno is what you need if serious.
