Steering head and other bits
I have become suspicious of the tightness of my steering head. Felt a little loose and I know Suzuki scrimp on the grease, so this week I decided to catch up on some maintenance.
Off with the tupperware and at the same time I replaced the plugs with iridium NGK CR7EIX, cleaned the BMC air filter, checked the TPS (-C00) and balanced the TBs. All good.
I pulled the front wheel off and the top yoke and lowered the steering stem enough to access the bearings and check the races. 24,600km and still plenty of grease and no sign of wear, so I repacked them with waterproof grease and reassembled and re-torqued.
The stem was quite loose, so it was worth it just to adjust it. Good excuse to clean the beast thoroughly too. I'll do the rear linkages and swingarm next.
Sometimes I think spending a day working on a nice piece of machinery is almost as good as riding it. How sad is that..

Re: Steering head and other bits
After free up the cables behind the naked headlight i realised the stearing head should be tighter .Before i did that i got rid of that useless
fairing bracket .While i was in the cutting mood i got rid of the the reflector knobs .
The offending bracket in the background

From a sheep!
A crowd in Melbourne do them, around $160 odd from memory. I sure you could find a giving Barbaraaaaa over there? I see their web site doesn't seem to be active anymore?

Gee Gus
WA doesn't get rain so it's not a problem. They did make a slip on cover for that exact reason though. Why would you leave your bike out in the rain? That's just not right!
