what not to put on your head
I'm scratching this off my shopping list .. and they sell this in Australia presumably with a AS/NZS 1698 sticker on it.

A quick flick on ebay shows these type of helmets aren't worth more than $200, so you only get what you pay for it...cheap nasty crap.

Just playing the devils advocate...
While the helmet looks a bit munted and will need a bit of a buff up! Did it serve its purpose? Seems to be a bit more than just scuffing...
Personally I'm a one time use with my Helmets.

I've never been a fan of flip up helmets. I've had a hjc before and other than being a bit heavy wasn't too bad a helmet.

Re: what not to put on your head
To be fair this is a direct quote from the person involved.
"I think the HJC did very well considering the force I hit the ground with. I would buy another in a heartbeat. I didn't even have a headache."
Its hard to tell how much force he hit the ground with seeing he was blacked out.
I've done my own sliding down the road on a chinbar and glad I had it on then but after much more experience on a bike I am known to wear a open face at times these days.
I was looking at getting one of these HJCs but think l'll give it a miss, I'd rather spend up big and get a shoei.

I wear HJC and I'm not complaining. Its ny experience uf you have a HJC head you won't get a Shoei on at any comfort level.
I've crash tested a couple.
Don't be afraid of HJC at least a decent one.

Re: what not to put on your head
I'm a real fan of the flip face(s).
I have three Nolans and one Caberg and love them.
The duel locking system is my preference over the single latch.
My master plan is to have the SHARP testing system crash test them
