Rego Sticker Placement.
My rego lable holder was attached to the rear chain guard bolt. It looks so much better with it not being there so I want to mount it somewhere else. Where have you found the best place to mount it ? Are the tube holders legal in QLD ? With just about every cop car scanning our regos on the road for "history", its a wonder that we need have them on our bikes anyway.

Mine is now mounted on the front chain guard bolt. Much less vib and flex there.
This is the first bike I have had my reg on display. All others have been under the seat without a problem
Re: Rego Sticker Placement.
Just read the rego receipt more closely, and the clear tube holders are NOT allowed. I think its kinda silly. It must be mounted on the left side or the rear, so a cop on the opposite side of the road cannot see it anyway. If your stopped for a check you could pull it out from under your seat, just as you have to take your license out of your pocket. Why cant the lables be half the size for m/c's ? instead of the big ugly thing that they are ?

That looks good on the naked Gus, but I'm guessin' that the law would not allow that behind a front fairing.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but the Pommy Tax Disk attached to the number plate is the best way to go.gus wrote:That sticker is a pain .

I really don't understand why we even have to display the rego label these day. The authorities know before they pull you over if your vehicle is registered or not.

WA in this case stands for Way Ahead and not Wait Awhile!

in SA we no longer have labels either . I think the cops now have the technology so your rego number is all they need now / be interesting to see later how many people forget about it with no label to remind them although we still will get our renew notice .

Re: Rego Sticker Placement.
In WA you can check you rego expiry online and they send a renewal out about a month and a half before it due so there should be no real reason to forget, but then again.....................
My only real concern is that when we are traveling out of the state and get pulled over for any reason, does the other state have the same resources to check rego or do we get held up for an hour or more while they use pigeon mail.

Well I suppose all other states will follow suit. Some bean counter probably worked out how much the state would save if it didn't print lables. I know the police here have the in car techno'

Yes I did. I wonder if the state law is different in NSW.

possibly /looks neat though . On my last bike I made one using clear plastic hose, 2 rubber pole ends as caps & a couple of modified hose clamps as brackets . I had that mounted under my rego plate & never got chatted in SA .must have been ok here too .

I too made one that I used on my Blackbird. That was back when they even sold the tubes in m/c shops, so I assumed thay were legal then. Guess some non biking do gooder thought better of them and had them outlawed here in QLD. My partner still has one on her V Star. I better change that too.

Here is the relevant section of the NSW registration papers. Notice it doesn't prescribe the shape of the holder, but all yours are illegal and mines not.
