Vic Bike Rego
Bandit's up for Reg tomorrow. Nice of the RTA to inform me that as of July last year we now have to pay an additional $69 for a safety levee. Funny that, we're already paying for the one that Kennett brought in.

Are you sure mate? I haven't heard of the double levee. It's always been shown separate on the bill on the first bike.Kaupy1962 wrote:Bandit's up for Reg tomorrow. Re: Vic Bike Rego
From the Vicroads web site. Note there is no mention of the safety leeve. Although this is not the first time I've hear of it

QLD is the onlt state that I'm aware of that does a cheaper rego for bikes with only one seat
In SA Metro the cost for Rego/CTP/other added levies are:
up to 50 cc $233
51-250 $314
251-660cc $400
above 660cc $441
in rural SA it is
up to 50 cc $217
51-250 $245
251-660cc $347
above 660cc $408
In SA, Solo refers to a motorcycle without a side car, not the number of seats

Re: Vic Bike Rego
Mine was actually registered as a "3 Seat motobike" when I first changed over, but is the same price as any other 1250 Bandit here in Van Dieman's Land.
Reg 82.75
Safety Levy 25.00
Motor Tax 17.00
Duty 20.00
MAIB (CTP) 442.00
Total 586.75 (incl GST on CTP)
So if all you main-landers stop falling off your bikes when you come to visit, we might get a break on our CTP ....

Re: Vic Bike Rego
I paid $641.50 (total of CTP and rego) in April. That was the total cost for annual "registration", ie including all those other things dressed up as charges, fees, taxes, ancillaries, bend-overs, etc. That's Bega Valley, NSW (in case you don't look at my avatar). Option full comp insurance was an additional $298.50 (Youi). Not bad when you consider a Falcon XR6 in the ACT was over $1,100 for CTP/rego alone.

Re: Vic Bike Rego
my ctp alone was $666 in the sydney metro. In rural areas that ctp drops to somewhere in the $400s.
I had to pay the $666 because at the time I couldn't say I lived in Eurobodalla, 2 weeks later I can say I live there ... even though I'm still not down there yet
