Red Hot Muffler

Hey guys, Has anyone ever been for a ride and got home and the inside of the muffler is glowing bright red hot about halfway down the muffler? I've never had this happen before.

I'm a little unclear on where exactly "half way down" is. But having said that, no, I have never noticed anything like it. When my DR650 was brand new the header pipe used to glow red every time I rode it. Very lean from the factory. Is it half way down the headers, half way down the muffler or half way down the full system ,like at the cat where some people get that brown stain from the heat.

Thanks for that. Now back to the red hot muffler. If you grab a 30cm ruler and shove it inside the muffler about 200mm. That's where it get's red hot. The stainless mesh inside the muffler glows.
