Time to plan the next overnight ride - 29-30 Oct at Bathurst near Neville
First topic message reminder :
Ok you guys, time to think about the next overnighter.
We've been South and North and since there is no snorkel mod for the Bandit, that leaves West. I'm thinkingNeville Bathurst, where I know many of us have stayed before so we know it's a great spot.
IMO riding in a large group is over-rated but socialising in a large group deserves its reputation. So.. I'm thinking several groups from different directions converging onNeville Bathurst for a spot of beer judging.
It's early days so please feel free to put in a suggestion.
Here is the report of my previous Neville ride with maps.

Looks like starters so far:
Cameron
Baz
Potatomasher
Re-cycled
Ewok +1
........Narcolepsy
........SydneyBandit
........Mpottsy
Dave (notbandit)
and hopefullyNeil (boozer), normally a home brew connoisseur but I'm sure we can lure him with the bought stuff.

Mudgee is ok with me. Have a sister in law there. The Riverside Caravan park gets some good reviews. Most of the pubs have good food as well.

Crunch time: and already we've had some withdrawals, so far all I'm sure of is myself and my brother (I have great faith in Ewok though). We will be in Rylstone at lunchtime Saturday if anyone from Sydney wants to meet there.
We will be staying at
Abercrombie Motor Inn
362 Stewart St
Bathurst NSW
$105 for a twin room, there are many motels in Stewart St including the Bathurst Explorer just over the road.
Hope to see as many of you there as possible!
Any new Newcastle members are welcome to join us, let me know and I will work out a meeting point.
So organise your various groups and get on it now.

That's good news Baz, hope you can get a few more starters from Sydney , for company.
Come on you guys from down south you can see Mount Panorama, and maybe even catch a glimpse of Bloaty the wombat.

Just a reminder, if you're serious about Bathurst on the 30th you had better get your accommodation booked now.
I'm really hoping some more people are going to confirm soon, otherwise Baz will have to drink someone else's share as well as his own.
Come on I'll even shout you a drink, anyone?
Come on we need more Bandits in this picture.

I'm now booked into the Abercrombie Motor Inn... see you all there, might be able to go via Rylstone but unlikely to leave the Katoomba area before 1pm ish so may not be worthwhile or enough time...

Hi Guys
On the 29/30th October isnt there a Motor Cycle awareness ride to Wellington, i thought if you are going to travel to Bathurst anyway why not Travel another hour and a half or so to Wellington. Just a thought as i was asked today by a friend if i would like to go along as i live in Orange.

Thanks Re-C, I have your mobile from Grover. We are booked into the Abercrombie Motor Inn. See you in Bathurst between 3.00 - 4.00pm. Did you have a meeting place in mind?

Thanks Recycled.
What are the plans for Saturday afternoon? Mt Panorama is on my list, although I hear its full of speed cameras. Hmmmm... Where did I leave that roll of masking tape?
Anyone enjoy a nice scotch? I might bring a bottle of my favourite single malt to share.

Re: Time to plan the next overnight ride - 29-30 Oct at Bathurst near Neville
OK I'm leaving by 0900, Edgeworth Maccas, out to Broke then Bylong Valley Way, lunch at Rylstone, it's not far to Bathurst and I read where some road near Hill End has been paved so might make a detour. We should meet at a pub somewhere I suppose, so early arrivals can be comfortable while they wait, any suggestions?
We did the Mt Panorama thing not long ago, anyone keen is free to do it Saturday afternoon if they arrive early, I don't mind going out there though if that's the way things work out.
No speed cameras there, I had heard there was, but none last time. Bare in mind that it is popular with Mr Plod though and it is a 60kph two way street for most of the year.

Yep, happy to meet up somewhere (I can't suggest anywhere but a pub is a good suggestion ) then decide who wants to go out to Mt Panorama for a tour and a few piccies - should have plenty of time even if the latest arrivals are around 4.00pm. Someone with local knowledge might be able to suggest a meeting place or maybe we use Baz's pub finder if we don't have a better method.
