Rear Brake
How much rear brake do you use around town?
While testing a new camera position I discovered I use a fair bit of rear brake around town. I know I don't use much if any riding twisties.
Ignore the slip on boots and regular jeans. It was a quick test. Had my jacket on though

Re: Rear Brake
Virtually none. But this is because the rear brake on my Aprilia is useless but the front Brembos awesome .Another bad habit ive got into.
I do go looking for it down hill on the Bandit on dirt but then it just locks up (no abs ) surprisingly easy .I have played with only stopping by using
rear brake only and it sure takes a long time .Better called slowing down. .Press nothing ,stomp lock .( no ABS talk will be entered into . )

Around town? Lots, particularly in slow moving traffic and at lights/stop signs etc. Out in the twisties, not so much.

Re: Rear Brake
I tend to load the rear brake up during slow moving work. Was tought to do this when i did Qride and it does make life a lot easier. depending on conditions i will use the rears during the twisties but that is more of a tap to straighten me up a bit before the next turn. all depends. I did change my rear pads to sintered metal as the factory rears were crap

I use it a lot around town..........it is useful in the twisties if I get a little excited, is easier to slow things down if the bike has any lean.

Another (I) whom uses the rear brake a lot in the traffic snarl. I find it easy when trying to keep my feet off the ground, but doing about 1 ~ 3 KMH and balancing. Once above about 20, both get a touch as needed.

Lots round town.. When pushing it hard on Sundays, and the last 20km's home from work , will use the rear brake to help tip in / trail braking.
