Flat spots Empty Flat spots

Post  ozjimmy Sun 13 Feb 2011, 1:08 pm

Hi to all,
I have a 2010 bandit. Black naked. It has 8000k's on the clock, bought new in November last year.
Has anyone had any issue with A flat spot about 2500 - 3400 RPM.
I have a 2 Brothers slip on and use standard fuel.
Anyway seem's like there are a few people that know what's going on here, look forward to any response.

Cheers

Welcome.
That's a huge range for a flat spot. I'd be heading to a dyno if the dealer can't or won't cooperate. Seriously what other mods? These bikes are set up lean for emission complance.

I did with pipe and K@N .Not exactly in that range but close.Have a look (or you might Know ) to see what type of filter you have .
Paper or K@N and report back. I 'm thinking you have no power commander like me.

I know a lot of guys use and swear by the TFI box that Dale Walker sells, but I reckon the Power Commander is brilliant. I didn't have a flat spot, but more of snatchiness off the bottom end. Certainly smoothed everything out and was pretty well worth it. Power commander and tune came out to probably around 6-700ish tuned.

I was one of the early adopters of the power commander and seriously haven't had any issues other than an occassional FI light on a hot day which I reckon is the O2 bypass going out of range with the heat. No big one though.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been away. I've also clocked up another 1000k's over last weekend, I used better fuel and most of the flat spot and rough running have gone.
I was a little disappointed with the bike when I first started to open it up.
But I had a ride of a speed tripple on the same weekend. Now I'm very happy with the Bandit.javascript:emoticonp('cheers')

I think the seating position is better on the Trumpy.
The Bandit has a punchy motor, (not more powerful) but it seems to work better. If you know what i mean?
The money you saved would fix any issues.
I'm still trying to get the hang of fuel injection. Suspect
